Shadow- Who are you using at that rate??? My lowest quote has been mid 8's.
UltraJay- I would check with progerssive. They were my lowest, however the underwritter said that they dont insure cats, and if I were to get into an accident they wouldnt cover it. Either that or they would eventually find out and cancel me.

There was a thread over on either OSO or Speedwake about cat insurance. Markel seemed to be the only company insuring cats. Just repeating what I read.

State Farm out of Havasu. That's where the boat stays and yes that matters. We pay 846.00 for a 2006 27ft Laveycraft Sabre Cat 496 HO. They only insure up to 100,000. Limits 300,000/100,000 with uninsured boater, tow included and 5K medical payments. Hope this helps. PM for agents name and number. With a current boat class cert. you drop about 86.00 off the quote.

Why pay for insurance if the say they won't cover you in an accident....that's why you have it....
Am I missing something??

I am at 1k per year. When I called today she said that the lady could still drive it if there is written permission in the boat when an incident occurs. I just wanted to be covered incase I got hurt or something and she needed to drive it back to the ramps.
CMATT- It sounds like I have the same coverage as yours, ive got previous certs.
I think I might stay with who I have, I had vhulls previously and was paying around 300 so wasnt used to the price change. Colleen gave good service though, and Im willing to pay an extra hundred or so. Because when its time to file a claim it would be nice to have someone thats as prompt as her.

I would be careful with State Farm. They insured one of my cats in the past then dropped the policy once they figured out what it was. They do not insure high performance boats so don't be suprised if they drop you. State Farm has done this to others on this board as well.

So far we've been with State Farm for 2 1/2 years.I questioned this before we signed up with them.In fact we kept our previous insurance as well as The State Farm for about 6 months just incase they dropped us.I submitted
pictures of our boat front, bottom, sides, back, clear pics of the sponsons and bottom just to be sure they knew.
I have been dropped before from other company's once they caught wind of the type of hull.Keeping my fingers crossed.
