I'm sorry you did say starter. I mispelled.
I've had alot of em rebuilt. Most I ever paid was about 85.00. Once they were rebuilt never ever had another problem

I seem to go through those mini high-torque starters (a couple hundred each), but with the blower motors and locked out 30 degrees timing...they do get a workout.
Also, they are a PITA to get to.

Nice. I use to do that for a living....Was it a marine grade starter or just a standard truck starter?

So basically you have no idea what brought this about and why it's being pushed to the level it has been??? Sounds about normal for Sippy though. ;)

Havasu, that deal MSD makes that pulls timing out only when cranking is worth every cent. It pulls out timing until the engine hits 800 RPM then your 30 degrees is back. I ran 36 in my last engine and installed one of those deals it it fired up super easy.

Yeah...I ended up installing the retard boxes. This stater was pre-retard box, so it was pretty worked from last season.
