I think most 4 year old boys would like it. I, however, think it's hideous and would infinitely prefer to have a Dodge Challenger.
Back in the day, GM used to have some of the most beautiful cars. What's with all of this angular shit?
By the way, when did you join TeamTurnkey? I thought you were Miss Anti-drama?

It usually takes me a year or 2 to like a body change, but I actually like this one. Granted I've seen it a while ago. I am a huge F-body fan, I had a z-28 and a firebird. I don't like the new firebirds, but I do like the camaro as far as the new boxy style goes. I really think this generation isn't going to last long and they will be re-engineered again in about 5-6 years when this boxy, Chrysler/Dodge look goes outta style.

They are trying to do what Ford did with the Mustang. It looks pretty tuff, but to much like a toy car for me. Way to bulky!

I agree - the older cars were beautiful and some of the newer ones are looking space age with some of the older features mixed in...............yuck.
By the way, when did you join TeamTurnkey? I thought you were Miss Anti-drama?
Normally I stay out of this crap but I just happen to agree with the point Jordy was making and have a few issues myself with the way he handles things.

Charger is kinda cool - and I think the mustangs are growing on me, with the exception of the puke green color. WTH were they thinking LOL.
What about the newer T-Birds? Im still undecided on those too :)

it's close... if the grill wasn't set so far back, i'd like it more. if the tail lights looked more like the '69 camaro and less like the 'vette , i'd like it more.
if they would just tool up with the '69 sheet metal, i'd love it...

I like the fact that Detroit and Dearborn, (and wherever the hell Daimler-Chrysler is) have finally come to the conclusion that people like to drive automobiles that have some personality to them. Remember when you could see a car drive by and recognize the make, model, and year without really trying? What happened to that?
Ford really stepped up to the plate with the new Mustang, they got just the right amount of old mixed in with the new and are drawing buyers from all ages with it. Chevy needs to do some fine tuning on the Camaro, the Trans Am pics that have been floating around hit the mark a little closer to the original, and the Challenger is cool. Make the new "hemi" a 426, put an indestructable 5 speed behind it and a Dana 60 with disc brakes on it and they will have something.
I'm 47, and remember when my next-door-neighbor went down to Cormier Chevrolet in Long Beach and bought a brand new 70 El Camino SS 454 with a Muncie behind it, Cowl Induction Hood, etc. It was awesome. It smelled good inside, and actually had some interior parts that were metal, not plastic. I got to ride home in it with him. It barked the posi on the F70-14's in three gears, and it got even better when it was broke in.
Anything they do to get away from the current design basics is good. Just about every car out there today looks like it was squeezed out of a tube of toothpaste. The gigantic single-piece chunks of plastic and fiberglass that now pass for grill/grill shell/headlight rings/front bumper combination really have worn out their welcome.
Strange, ain't it, that we are clamoring for cars that were designed 30 or more years ago. You'd think that the boys could have come up with something that a least looked like it might be timeless and follow in the footsteps of the muxclecar era before 2006. If GM simply re-tooled the '69 Z-28 Camaro and dropped the new LS engine in it with a retro paint scheme, they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough. Same with that Challenger I described above, and a '70 Mach 1 Mustang with a Shaker scoop, etc. If they are gonna screw us on the price of gas, when I am out to enjoy it I damn well am gonna drive something I like, and don't mind driving a 50 year old car if they can't figure out how to get my attention with something new.
Guess I'm just old.

FBT I take your point and add:
The new Solistice and it's other Saturn equivilent is a real dissapointment.
At first look it's kinda cool looking.
But at closer look:
No storage behind the seat, ya loose the trunk with the top down,, no power.
Wifies dinky ass Honda s2000 stores plenty in the trunk, and reasonable storage behinds the seats/rear window, and ya still have the trunk with the top down,, and it lowers faster than the traffic signal can change.
GM'z gotta wake up.
Daughter picked the awful PT cruiser over the HHR because it had tons more power, and was about $5 grand less. Gave dads wallet a break.
I love GM,, I feel like I'm visiting an old friend whenever I get in a GM vech,,, but damn,, they don't seem to get it.
Show cars styling is sometimes over exagerrated. If the new Camaro toned it down a bit, had good mpg and lots of power,, it might make it.

ROTFLMAO! I LOVE your descriptions FBT, and this is all soooooo true! I dont understand the logic either - if they built them more like the era that is long gone....they wouldn't be able to build them fast enough......... :rollside:
