Refer to pic at (17' Starbuck photo) post. Need help on who built this boat. Trying to find HOOTY. Was told he may know the designer from back in the Glastron GT days. Anybody else have any idea what the boat is? Boat has no hull numbers. Does have a name plate on each side that reads; Starbuck Kustom LTD Denver, Colo. Ran the TX number and was told the hull number is SKB07420BMD. Have also been told that is not even close to a Starbuck number. I think the boat may have been asigned that number out of state. You would think that even an asigned number would start with Starbucks builder code. (SCP) I would appreciate any info.

I realize this is an old topic, but I have some information on Starbuck Boats. I am currently looking at buying one, and the owner e-mailed me this explanation:
"...The manufactirer was originally Starbuck boats. Jimmy Starbuck was a local racer in Denver and after about 15 years went bankrupt. About 5 years later he started up again as Colorado Custom Boats from Longmont, Colorado. Jet boat sales went down in the late 70s and Jimmy slowly got out of the boat buisness and into making fiberglass things like the rides for kids at carnivals and boxes to carry things on a conveyor at the airports. He since sold the buisness and now lives in Havasu..."
Hope this helps anybody that runs across a Starbuck boat.

Cool. I'm assuming if the molds keep getting used, it is a decent hull? I'm looking at a 18' Colorado Custom. Is it a worth while boat to even look at?

I think the 18 was something like this Contender, he doesn't build them anymore and the think the molds are in sad shape. Terry Brown with Browns Fiberglass Repair built the 17 tunnel and the 18 picklefork tunnel (Contender) I have pictured...

The only ones I've seen were tunnel outboards... Might get more help on Scream and Fly or byuboyz on that one.

its a blast...kinda like riding a go cart.. you sit more on top of it.. instead of down in it,, due to the full tunnel running down the center of it..
u can see in these pictures how high u sit...
he is sitting in the seat.. with his feet flat on the floor....lol
