There are some people that will say they don’t like them mostly because of some of the crazy paint jobs they put on them but I don’t think any of them have owned a Kachina. My first Kachina was a 26’ Force 496 mag I bought in 2000, had it for three years with no problems. I bought a new 2006 30’ Shadow with a 525 last year and it has been a good boat with no problems as well. If you like the boat and the price is right for you go for it just please don’t paint any weird things on it.
You may also want to check with Kachina Ken. :D :D

That’s the one, but I’m sure there is not a boat manufacturer out there with 100% customer satisfaction.

We love our Kachina, 3 years and no problems. Louie and the gang down there are so nice and easy to work with. Couldn't be happier (well, maybe if we had the blue engine and..............)

That boat looks real nice...A couple years ago the owner gave me and my family a tour of the place when we were looking at a Kachina. Seemed like awesome people to me.

Missed this thread yesterday. I bought my 30' Kachina from the, before mentioned, Kachina Ken. I've had it for a year and love it. No problems at all.... ... Well, except for the time the motor blew. I think it was the third time. Better maint. practices on my end have made for a more dependable boat (I only blew it once).

Kachina gives a lot of value for the money.
They have exceptional graphics.
They are not what you would call a "high end" boat.
There are better built boats, but they cost a lot more.
Most people won't know the difference.

I've been working on boats for quite sometime, I can say one thing for sure. I'm always impressed with how well the Kachina's are actually built. Every piece of wood is coated in resin unlike most other boating manufacters (my Fountain included) This to me shows the pride they take in there construction.
There is alot of bashing on here but how many problems do you really here about with them??? You can't go wrong they really are quality boats. Good Luck...

If you really want an opinion on a certain manufacturer, give me a call. I wont air out any dirty laundry on the net. I will say however, that after being in my Kachina and being in just about every other west coast manufacturer's boat, and quite a few east coast manufacturers boats, Kachina's hold their own. I'm not just saying that because I own one either. You'd be surprised at some of "quality" craftsmanship alot of boat builders use.
Foutainatlast made a good point, go look in alot of "other" boats and you'll find rotten wood on the hatches, seats, and floors. You wont find any of that in one of Louies boats. As far as the price? He doesn't sell to dealers, that keeps his costs down. Maybe he should cut down on some of the wierd murals, but then he sells what people want, that's his niche.
If you like the boat, have it checked out by a shop, check the stringers, and transom. Have the motor compression checked, the drive pressure tested and make sure all the electrical systems work. Any used boat can be a pos if it's not properly maintained. Than again if the price is right and you want a fix-r-upper than that may be route you want to go. I don't care what the brand on the side of the boat is, have it checked out first.
You could buy a two year old Outerlimits with bad motors and structural damage, new is new but used is on you.

Paul, Now that you have finished your boat maybe you can start using it more and stop working so damn much. There is more to life than working on other people's boats. You're going to Havasu with us next month and I won't take I'm to busy for an answer this time.
BTW. you did a great job on your sled.

Ive had my Kachina for 3 years and have had only minor problems and Louie has been more than happy to take care of them. Also with all the upgrades i received i dont think i would have found a better price. My paint alone would have set me back a pretty penny at just about any other builder
