What ever happened to the 4% annual cost of living adjustment????

I'm glad my mortgage is locked in at 5.75%. The Fed seems hell bent to slow the economy this year.
Those with adjustables, expect another 1% this year and maybe 2% higher by the end of 2007.
I'm good for the next few years, but the paycheck has not kepted up with all these price increases lately, so I might have to adjust my savings downward.
What ever happened to the 4% annual cost of living adjustment????

4% Bahahahahaha!!! That's some funny $hit. Haven't seen 4% in years.
Gave up our 2% COLA last year and paid an additional 3% into our retirenment.
This year we're paying 2% more into our pension.
No raise expected in the future either. Somehow the politicians mismanaging of the budget is our fault. Damn, if I ran my finances like those fools, I'd be thrown in jail.

Looks like we are about to sign a 4 yr. contract below the cola avg. 4% first yr. 3.5% second yr. 2.5% third yr. and 2% fourth yr. I hate 4 yr. contracts, we always get hosed in the long run.

Inflation has been low the past few years, other than fuel. Also union membership shrank.

We are halfway thru a 3 year 21% contract...but we went a few years without a raise before this one, so its all a wash in the end.
