Looking for a 28' deck with a 500 efi or a 525 efi.
What is the ride like in big nasty water? I boat at LOTO in MO.
Is the ride the same as a cat?

With a deck you have to remember the whole front is wide open and pretty much acts like a shovel when the water is big and nasty. I've never been to LOTO but I hear the water gets really bad. I personally wouldn't recommend the deck in those water conditions but thats just me.

Big water, not for west coast or performance type deckboats for sure. Maybe the Chapparel type, deep V would suit you better. NSF

DCB, E-ticket, Trident, Conquest or Howard, would be on my list for potential deckboats.
Personnaly I would start at DCB though and end my search there. :D

I like it very much inspite of the stories on the boards. As I said, NOT FOR BIG WATER and LOTO is big right? Maybe a closed bow cat. Like Ivan Dan said, it's like a big water shovel and the waves, if large enough, will come right in. NSF

Well, what do u define as "big water?"
Got a 26' decker and been in 3'-4' chop with no water over the deck. It takes a good driver, but u can navigate through decent chop and waves. Anything over that, yeah, wouldn't recommend it.

I think an E ticket with Dual 600's and a Trident front drop down thingy would be pretty hard to beat!!
Throw in the DCB footwash contraption and sell it for 100K and it would be perfect...;) :crossx:

I would actually like to be able to afford what I just created. :crossx:
I would imagine an E-ticket with 600's would be well over 220K
You two headed out this weekend?(Leaving tommorow around noon-just my dad and me)

Actually not hot at all, the floor is pretty nice on the feet too. I was surprised when I walked on it out at the river.

I think the E ticket is around 130K with two 496HO's the 600 motors/Drives would probably add 100K to the deal.(Merc racing isn't cheap)
sounds good.
We are going to launch into Havasu Saturday Morning and try and meet up for the group pictiures.(We won't be doing the poker run or the dinner)
Maybe hit the turtle for a beer or two and then cruise around.
Do you know what time the photo opp is and where they are meeting?

As has been said... easy day on bare feet. Plus with the washdown system it is as cool as lakewater.
Strangely enough, the silver billet was the coolest temperature of anything on the boat in 105 degree heat. (As per the laser pyrometer thingy...) Way cooler than the red, and even cooler than the light grey non-skid.
This handles big water very, very well. I would consider Friday evening of the Memorial Day weekend pretty big with 50mph gusts and a ton of boats. Not a drop in the boat and we were transiting from the sandbar at 70. No problem Saturday or Sunday either coming from Steamboat. I would have been idling with a lot of trim in my old 21 I think.
Big water R us. All of a sudden that ramp makes a ton of sense eh? :D

A Chapparel with a 525. That would be a great wakeboarding boat! I could only get mine with the 496HO!
