I did that once. We were at Buena Vista and borrowed my buddies truck to go from camp to pull the boat out. We figured we were just going around the corner so didn't bother to hook up the safety chains. Got the boat on the trailer (18' Southwind) I was in the drivers seat of the boat and my buddy, who owned the boat, was driving the truck. He started pulling the boat out and the angle where the ramp stransitions from uphill to flat is a pretty good angle. Well, the hitch pried the trailer up and popped it right off the ball. I rolled down the ramp backward and into the water. The look on my buddies face in the back window of the truck was priceless. I just fired the boat up and drove it and the trailer back up the ramp far enough to hook up the safety chains and drag the trailer up the ramp. It was funny as hell afterward.
