Technically not a twin turbo. There are 2 turbos in line to lose the "turbo lag."

That is the main point of a twin turbo to eliminate lag. There is no reason to run two turbos except to get rid of any kind of lag. Two turbos=Twin turbo in my book, no matter where you are placing them. BTW, not only are two turbos going to help with lag, they are located sequentialy for better emissions. Im not quite sure how that is going to help emisions but im not CARB. LOL
Small turbos make for quick spool and torque but in the high rpm range dont push enough air to make big hp. A big turbo for high end hp but will tend to spool slowly.
Lucky for guys like me that only run one big turbo on their car they make some pretty quick spooling large turbos. I run a very custom ported 50trim bb turbo that spools quicker than my tiny little stocker did although there is alot more turbine to spin up.

Hey Toby, my neighbor is a Ford tech and he's saying stay away. Not a lot of good news coming down the pipe about this one, he says. Ford is already looking at a different approach/replacement. To bad could have been a nice set up.
Just my $.02, well really my neighbors $.02,
Chris
PS When's Jav picking up the Rhino :crossx:

50 trim on what ?
Well its big for what it is on. I have it on my 05 SRT-4. Its only a little 2.4, 4 banger. LOL... The factory TC is a tiny little TD04LR-15GK-6cm.
Im currently running a 50 trim T04E compressor, a Stage 3 T31 turbine wheel and a 4 bolt outlet T31 .63 A/R turbine housing.
This set up will support 400hp plus on my little car and get me in the mid to low 11s all day long. Unfortunately, Im having some serious tuning issues right now, but Im not that far off from my 400+hp at the front wheels mark. I want more and am already considering a more radical set up. I want to see 450hp at the wheels and at least a 10.99 time slip.
It is summer though, and the poor little car gets put on the back burner.

Sounds fun...I would imagine that monster Tq steers something fierce. :crossx:
I had a 2003 that I sold a year ago.(Bought for the G-friend) and we still miss it from time to time.
Thing ran 13.8 at 102 with Exhaust and K&N Typhoon intake
Pissed alot ofg S2000 and Mustang GT owners off;) :crossx:

Thats a pretty fast time! What elevation were you at? My 05 has only 1800 miles on it so its only been ran one time with the stock turbo. The 04-05s come with an LSD, so that makes a big difference. Making Hp in these cars is a piece of cake, its hooking up that causes all the issues.
I have a friend here in town that is making around 480 and over 500 lbs of torque!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He ass-raped a local 11 sec 04 Cobra 3 times in a row. He has hit the 10s in his. He actually still drives the thing to work almost everyday.
I have always been a Mustang guy. I have owned 5 Fox chassis and one 65. All of them very radical. I just wanted somthing different and have always liked the SRTs. It is seriously one of the funnest vehicles I have ever owned. Its pretty cool to smack Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, etc with a 4 banger Neon.

the dodge cummins is a very good motor, but the transmissions in the dodges will not support any kind of towing capacity. if a transmission can not handle larger tires, it will never handle continued use with twelve thousand pounds behind it.

I ran that at a 650' Elevation track next to the ocean (75 degrees/Carlsbad) DA was probably 1200.
I was able to cut a couple 2.0 60' on the stock michelin pilots. My better half cut a 1.9 and ran a 14.0 at 100.(I am a little better rowing gears)
There was a couple shops running big MPH (130+ in the 1/4) 2 years ago out on the west coast so I am sure they gave gained some ground since then.Weak link seemed to be the tuning, tranny and then trying to hook 500hp in a light FWD car.
They are deadly from a roll with upgraded turbo and big boost.I haven't run into anything fast out this way in the vette lately.

Im sure you Vette is no slouch. What are you going to get if you sell it?

Vette runs pretty good for a full weight non drag car.
It's good for low low 12's at 124+ on street tires or 11.3 at 125+ on ET streets.(With a smaler pulley it would go into the 10's if I tried to break it)
When it sells I keep thinking either a regular cab short bed Silverado with a blower and 20's.Should be good for low 13's/high 12's on street tires with a good tune or a Trailblazer SS?

dodges tranny allows their truck to get spanked by both the Chevy, and
even the ford..........

Buy the Dodge, put a Suncoast tranny in it.It will cost about $6500 with a billit input shaft, upgraded flex plate, deep pan and install. Then the truck will be bullet proof

that makes alot of sense, spend 40k on a truck, spend 6k on a trans that the truck should allready have and then screw the warranty

Maybe the truck should be ordered w/o tranny and take the factory credit :)

Not if you leave the engine stock. It is much upgraded from the old 47re but wont handle a ton of "extra" horsepower thrown at it.I went with the Edge Hot Juice /Attitude combo which can be, up to an additional 180 HP.I tow heavy (14k) and these things combined can/will be hard on a stock trans,so i went with a Suncoast tranny. Its a triple disk dealio with a billet input shaft, deep pan, upgraded flexplate and better internals.

The Cummins is a beast and gets downright mean pulling a heavy load, forget all the manufacturers HP and Torque #s.Ford and Chevy will not outpull a Dodge .

Mine is an 04 with the 325/600 motor. Cummins is going to supply a 6.7 L in the new 07's.Rumor has it that it will have less HP but more Torque.Maybe thats before Dodge gets ahold of it,i dunno. The new tranny is an Aisin and probably will be a 5 or 6 speed auto, dunno for sure about that either, havent seen one yet.But i do know there will be a ton of emmision crap on all the new diesels,if it were me i would buy now and skip all that.

fugg it, went and bought a new '06 last weekend... by the way, absolutely zero change between an 06 and 07... looks like they just threw 07 badges on 06's and contunued production with no changes. not surprising, they propably just did it since they couldnt get the new ones to work in time... what a bunch of crap

ok here's the poop on dodge. we have seen a drastic decrease in transmission repairs on the trucks from 99 to current models. im a parts guy for dodge so i see it first hand. the only trucks with issues we've seen have "ego boosters" like the edge box or something along that line. we've put the high flow injectors in trucks and had no issues with engine or tranny problems.
i currently own a ford ps 6.0 and i love it. yes it has the standard 8" lift with 37" tires and if i drive it correctly it tows my 31' a.o. great. i think it all comes down to personal pref. on which truck is best.

i did forget one minor issue. although it seems to be the smaller trans only. they seem to get gov.pres. solenoids and tranducers. but like i said this isnt on the dsl trucks.
