I was thinking of upgrading to the new Motorolla Q. I have the treo650 and was just wondering if anyone here has it and if they are happy with it.

I demoed one that verizon sent me in may. Its not a bad phone, the calls are actually a lot better then on my Treo 700. I'd say it makes a great phone + PDA. It does lack a bit in the real world functionality though. I could not get a SSH client to work right with it, main problems being no virtual keyboard and no esc or backspace keys on the pad. Kiss vi or BitchX good bye.
Anyways... All in all its not a bad device. Battery life is about what you'll be seeing with a Treo so nothing new there. The web surfing is acutally pretty nice. The size of the device is what makes it a winner for me. I was able to carry it in my pocket and not look like a tool with some lame device attached to my hip.
It depends on what you are looking for.
nice phone + web + email = perfect device
phone + web / email + apps = go for the Treo 700

I've been following the treo's, Q, and a few other devices for the past couple of months trying to decide what to get myself. Most (not all) but most things I have seen say the nokia E61 is the most bad ass thing around. It's not available in the states but is unlocked so that you can use it with any carrier (except Verizon).

I was gonna get the Q but my Verizon rep talked me out of it, So i picked up the XV6700 Audiovox makes it. Way better it has a touchscreen. Getting on the net is fast and pretty simple it runs Windows mobile 5.

I worked for Verizon back in the day while in college. I was an asst manager during my sophmore year at ASU. One of the guys I went through training with is now a manager at a store and I talked to him today about getting a Q.
He told me they (the Q) freeze up all the time and currently Motorola phones are not what they are pushing because of all the issues.
I wont be getting one of these this weekend.

Probably cant use it on Alltell either since they use CDMA like Verizon.

That seems to be the general concensus.... I was hoping it wasnt true. Because its much nicer to carry than the Treo :(
