Hung out in what started as a really nice day in the Channel. Our kids, Darrell and Teresa,Big Doug and Rochelle and even Mel for a couple hours. Played some horseshoes with the boys while the girls sunned. Then it happened out of nowhere...... Mini monsoon. Got the heck outta dodge!!!

That wind looks terrible!
My boat would have been “toast” in that weather…all 18 feet of it.
How long did this last???

What time did that hit Todd?? I was down there with the family til about 1pm swimming around in the swim area before leaving town at 3pm.
It looks omninously monsoonal to the south and over the east mountains when we left but never a single drop or wind.
.
So much for the extreme heat warning they issued  :D

We were there until around 1:00 also and then took off to Vegas, I would have never thought that would hit later! If I had known you were there Zig I would have come over and said hello :(

We were on the side by Kokomo's but further down on the beach. Was there for awhile on Sat too after we came back from the Sandbar - just leaving as Shake Yo Azz came through and parked. It was a mess, I dont know how you guys stand those f'ng fumes!

I saw Mel on Saturday on the beach as we signed up for our regatta.... :)
We went thru the channal saturday about 10:45-11:00, mainly so my daughters friend could have a picture of the bridge to take home with her...otherwise we don't venture thru there too much anymore....especially Saturdays.....
All other trips we went around the island this weekend.......
.
You went to the sandbar? You party animal you. :rollside: :)

I can relate, when I lived there and family from out of town came we always had to give them the tour.........the same tour LOL..........
It was kind of a low key weekend for us, I didnt really even let anyone we were coming through since it was just for a quick weekend. Going back in August and house hunting around Parker tho.

Right about 5:30pm. Darrell and I were just saying how the flag has been still all day, it was hot and humid. About 30 minutes later, WHAM! It was a mad dash for my slip and Darrell headed to Crazy Horse. We then ran over to site 6 where the lake was a freakin mess. People were scrambling everywhere.

I was thinking the same thing…who is going to fish in that nightmare :220v: …I think my best bet would have to just beach the boat and tie it off to a tree…I wouldn’t have been able to make it back to Windsor  …judging by the last picture, it must have started pouring down rain too..and still be 100 degrees…. :2purples:  :2purples:

It was crazy. I was heading out of the channel right when the wind picked up. A boat flipped right around the Nautical by the golf course.
