I have always had an efi engine, and the "new" boat I have has a 1050 carb on top. I am heading to Lake Powell for 9 days next month.....should I re-jet the carb? And if so, what size jets should I use, and how difficult of a job is it?
The motor is a built 540 that the previous owner said probably puts out 575-625 hp's. It runs strong, and at Elsinore pushes my Tremor to about 80 mph. A little hlep would be appreciated.

I would just run it fat, you are talking about 2000' difference in altitude.

One jet size for every 1500' of altitude change. :220v:

I would just leave it and expect a bit more soot on the transom. It won't have quit the power at Elsinore, but it will get you by!
Does it have a "jet block" or whatever they are called? There used to be a quickie block that you could quickly change jets on the fly (drag racers use them).
1050 Dominator seems a bit overcarbed, but then again, it probably has smaller jets maybe, I dunno...go buy a 750 and pop that on there if you're worried. :rollside:
