With all this talk of motor prices that are out of control. What are some of the most well built EFI motors out there for the price tag. GT marine?, Larry Peto?, Taylor Performance?
Any other names people would throw out there.

depends on what you want... for 600 hp expect to pay in the twenties for full marinized. (less drive)

So, for the inquiring minds, what then is the price of a drive?

600hp seems reasonable to be able to move most boats at a good click. It also seems to me that anything greater then 600 is when insurance policies climb rapidly.

that depends on what you buy. An XR (no gimbal) is $7k. HP gimbal is $3k.
I like the max machine worx drives but I haven't priced those lately. Probably a few thousand more.

ahhh look at these beauties.
I love the sound of big blocks in the morning :crossx:
TPI (http://www.tpboats.com/customefiengines/tp700efi.html)
peto (http://www.larrysengine.com/engine_580TKM.htm)
TPI even has a 600 hp piece.... :crossx: I'm sure Peto would do the same.

His motors are like a piece of fine art. The look of them in the Howards at the LA boat show was nothing short of breathtaking. I almost left a stain on the side of the boats as I looked into the engine compartment. :) :)
