Tahoe is a step down from a Bayliner. So might be the owner.

Couple of years ago a local guided
some guy down the ramp right on to a rock,
The guy was out here from the east coast with
a full dress skater twin sterrlings 6 drives.
When the local started laughing about it the fight was on.

What's wrong with this country is any boat manufacturer will sell a boat to anyone, whether they know what they're doing or not. I see some people in that photo who would lend a hand to anyone, that is just site 6, when you see some guy in his boat trying to load with a beer in his hand, do you think he really deserves any help????
I think most people know when they launch/load at site 6 you know what they're in for.
I've been there, and with regards to the karma thing, when I leave, I make sure that I will help someone ie stand on the tongue and get their truck out for them, or give them advice.

I agree, I have been graded on this ramp before. (Nothing lower than a seven). My 14 year old son was helping me at the time and I give him a ten for effort. I have helped alot of people on this ramp and others in the past because I'v been there before.
Wife is new to backing the trailor, son is new to guiding the boat, cars, boats alcohol, attitudes, this shit ain't funny. Get off your lazy asses and help a brotha out. Fricken' low lifes!

Yeah right, take a better look at that picture.Theres maybe and I say MAYBE 4-5 people in that pic that would get off their lazy fat nothing better to do than sit in 100+deg heat and laugh at others while not being able to any better themselves ass's to give a guy some help. Why are they there in the first place?I dont see any reason to hang out in that kind of heat just too watch good and bad boaters launch their boats, you can see enough morons anytime and anywhere in this world.Theres no need to hang out like a group of morons just to get some laughs out of it.Get a life people.

BigDoug
07-02-2006, 09:44 AM
Ya that's me and the wife sitting there watching :)
We have nothing better to do in Havasu
Im told The city had bleachers up there about 10 years ago to watch all the action.
Im always helping people out, it's what i do !!! but when some people roll in and say "how is that for being drunk" out loud and slurring his or her words, #1 it pisses me off they are operating a vessel under these conditions and i refuse to help someone in these conditions if he can't even help himself, if there are kids on the boat and mommy and daddy are drunk then i will offer my help so the kids aren't jeopardized to an accident ie. running boat slamming into trailer and sometimes overshoot the trailer and on into his own truck or someone elses for that matter !!! there are many stories here.
I think you would be surprised on the # of boaters who are drunk coming in and the # of boaters who flat out don't know what the're doing, expecting the wife, girlfriend or friend to help and they don'y know what to do because they weren't informed ahead of time, that is the problem with this country, common sense and communication goes a long way when boating, especially when there is always variables and or mishaps.
Sometimes you offer help and the idiot says "we don't need your f'en help" ok then !! we will watch you screw up your boat and trailer then. :)
This is cheap entertainment at it's finest folks, for sure !!!!

BigDoug
07-02-2006, 09:51 AM
JR, you sound a lit pissy today !!!! 100deg heat ? oh ya this is Havasu.
Someone is always there to offer help but some of these dingleberrys refuse it cause they think they have under control ?........not !!!
Plus we are waiting there for the casino tour boat to come pic us up, so while we wait, there is a little action to amuse us for the time being, that's all.
No harm no foul. :)

Jrocket
07-02-2006, 10:05 AM
BD,not any pissier today then any other day.I have you in the 4-5 people that would help, but if you look at the pic you can clearly see alot of people that couldnt help themselves up after tripping over their own feet, let alone help some boater that needs it.
Yes I can imagine how many come in drunk and with kids in the boat. The worlds full of these selfish pricks. Those people need a call to the authoritys more then help with their boats.Unfortunately it would be a long day of making calls that would fall on deaf ears most of the time.So the problems just pass as what can you do statements.
Next time you see a drunk come in with kids in the boat, hold his head under water for me and send me a bill for the service!

There is more than one idiot in the boat. What I see, is some moron attempting to drive the boat. He lost it along time ago, maybe he never had it, but the boat bitch in the bow is no better. The driver wasn't smart enough to shut it down and do it with muscle, and the boat bitch wasn't smart enough to jump in and help.
As for the crowd...sit there and watch and laugh. These dummies aren't injured or in a crisis. F em. I know that if any one of the boaters or trailer dummies had put away enough pride to get out and say "I NEED HELP", you would have more than enough people willing to accomodate. But they'll sit there and fight it and fight it and get more and more pissed off until they pop, and the crowd goes wild. It makes for great entertainment.

BigDoug
07-02-2006, 10:29 AM
Jr, your right about some of the people sitting there, they like to get thier drunk on too !!....it's funny to sit there and see these old people actually get there first, approximate age of the elderly is 50-70 and they are probably the pioneers of this sport (launch ramp follies)
It's always something to watch someone who left their drive down and motor and prop still spinning just to get some damage, you can't even yell to them to stop cause its too loud for them hear, but oh well, they should be thinking a little more about closing that final chapter of "boating" :)

07-02-2006, 10:33 AM
I think most of us would help the "rookie" or "Husband and wife with boat full of kids" if it was wanted and appreciated, but the drunks.....They deserve whatever misfortune they get! I'd just sit back and laugh my ass off and hope they made home without killing themselves or anyone else.

I've seen both sides to the story.
Last time that piece of shit ramp screwed up my trailer, and wouldn't let the boat out of the water (with all four tires spinning), I had a few nice people come over and volunteer to stand on my running boards.
I also remember the old days of Site 6. The crowd that gathered made a Nascar crowd look like they actually had alot of teeth...
...and they were waaaaay drunker and more belligerent than any poor souls just trying to get their boats off the water.

Wow, where the hell did this thread go ? your bashing me and others for hanging around a boat launch site ?
Just to let you know, im always helping and often do, ask Killrtoy he saw me in the back of a pick up for added weight (keep your comments about my weight out of this :) )
Plus in that pic, the older guy next to me was telling me about stories and goingons of this said ramp, this has been going on for years, hell iv'e been part of the attraction myself but the difference is i know how to take it easy coming in there nice and slow, oh ya im not drunk either, so i don't worry about what we need to do to be successful at putting a simple boat on a trailer !!! really how hard is that ?
Actually, i worry about the guy next to me who can't back down his trailer and gets sideways coming towards my vehicle, that's when you appreciate someone like us at the ramp to give warning and help, then when the boat gets close enough he isn't paying attention and his boat wonders left to right at the back and hits me or the other person on the other side, this happens quite often.
Like i said earlier, we are waiting for the Casino ferry boat to come and get us :)

The one and only time I launched at site six was on a Fourth of July weekend 2 years ago. I had no idea what I was in store for when we came in to put the boat back on the trailer in the dark. It took about two hours in line to get to the ramp with the truck, my son and I watched Saving Private Ryan while waiting in line. The wife one shotted the boat, I already had the four wheel drive locked in, and we were out in a flash with no hassles. My wife is an expert at putting that thing on the trailer.........She even got an applause from the crowd.
With that said, I won't ever use Site 6 again, no way am I waiting two hours to get off the water. I would have been better off having her drop me off and I could have driven to the marina and picked her up.

OH PLEEEAAASSSEEE!!!! Have either of you been to Havasu on a holiday
weekend? It's NOT exactly a family place. It's a bunch of drunk 20-30
year olds acting like idiots! Since when does one have to justify
his/her entertainment. I'll be there tonight and I'll make sure to get
some more great pics for you both!
Don't be hating on peeps just cause your sitting at home
with your grumpy wives!
How's my favorite grumpy wife? :D
you get to play with the gang this weekend Traci?

VM, now you will have the best of both worlds, go for it !! :)
I have a deal locked in on a new 24' whacker powered cat deckboat. I am keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully I will make the run back to havi for the third time in four weeks to pick it up................... and no I wount be launching off the cliff (site six).............
Oh yeah I will admit having people hanging out at the ramp comes in handy three weeks ago when we were launching at the south ramp at windsor there were some guys up at the top, they told me when the wheel's were close to the drop off. So I must say thanks to them. But I was also smart enough to listen and wave thanks on the way out............... :rollside:
