Going on several Royal Carib and Carnival cruises this summer.
How dressy for the formal dinners for me and the wife?
Are we talking formal gown and tux,, or just biz style clothes?
Thanks

ThanksYou're supposed to wear a dark suit for the formal night (so it's more dressy than biz style). You'll see a lot regular cruisers who own and wear tuxes on the formal nights. The ships rent tuxes onboard (not that you'd want to, but a tux is definitely acceptable attire.) Part of formal night is getting a nice portrait with your sweetie so being all dressed up makes for a nicer keepsake photo which the wives/girlfrieds love. The higher end the cruise line, the higher the ratio of tuxes :) (In other words, you'll see fewer on Carnival -- and I'm not knocking Carnival, I've been on some really fun carnival cruises.)
My advice: wear a dark suit with a tie.
Have fun! :)

I just got home from a cruise. Dark suit and tie would be fine! I think I saw one guy in a Tux all week.

Tux's are gay
Nothing beats a bad ass suit. Its what I will be getting married in.

We went on a Royal cruise last year and most in our group wore nice shirts and ties. We never felt out of place. Goin to Tahiti in Feb.10 days, cant wait. Have fun on your cruises.

Wear a nice suit and have the gals wear formal dresses. Spring for the girls to get their nails done and special hairdo's too and massages. She'll like you more later. Don't forget to hit the captains social hour. drinks are free. Get some pictures in front of the Titanic staircase. our last Royal Carib cruise had the Titanic staircase backdrop and it looks real in our pics. Kind of cool.
have a great time!

Can a 6 year old in a tux go, or do the kids activities run late?

Kids can go also to the formal nights, no problem.
