I was looking at some old family pics. I came across a few of my old man's '70 Eldorado he had. Man, it's amazing how much room was dedicated to the engine compartment - look at the length of the hood on that thing, it's longer than the passenger compartment.

You need room for a 500 cubic inch, front-wheel drive. And look at the doors on that thing. That's what door dings are made of......

I'll bet that thing would be perfect for the big weekend Havasu chop.

I think the Eldo's went front wheel drive in '67, so that would be. I had a '76 coupe de'ville when I was in college with a 500ci engine and it made a great road trip car. It was even fuel injected so I got 10mpg on the highway. It probably would have looked good with some digital guages in it, what do you think JBB :)

its 100% complete and original it has the fender skirts, hubcaps and all the interior. the body is good and the only rust i have noticed is on the corners of the hood it does run but the fuel pump is bad.. i have a new one just never installed it. to make it run i just need to hook up a battery and put fuel in the carb. it was stored in a garage at an abandoned apartment complex since 1992 with six other cars. i was asking $700.00 cash but i would consider a trade for a kids quad.

The El D and Olds Toranado came out with front wheel drive in 67. What was kinda neat was no hump down the middle from drive train tunnel. Something unique fro the time.
White on white 68-69 El D ragtops were ultimate crusiers.

The front wheel drive was set up with the engine (500 cubic inch big block) in its usual position, not turned sideways and the trans bolted on the back with a transaxle kind of set up. (60's engineering) Must of had some serious torque steer though. I knew it would lay some serious rubber.

The trans was really a TH400 with the tail shaft changed and as for torque steer it wasn't bad because the cars had equal length half shafts.
