T & B or others. Our kids have reserved a house boat for early Aug, but friends who have been there already this year are reporting back that good sites for tieing off and camping are scarce and that early rumors of the lake rising enough to get thru the pass were just that. Its not too late for them to cancel their boat for this year and go to Mead instead (my idea.) Your thoughts would be appreciated...

Just as much beach as there ever was. Lots of weeds and bushes growing on them so it doesnt look like it used too. The shovel and rake on the houseboat will fix that.

More beach there than at Mead. Just may have to boat a bit further. Still the most awesome lake out there!

We did a week stay there about 10 years ago. The lake was over full and there were no beaches to speak of. We had to tie up wedged in a canyon.
They would not let you drive under but Rainbow bridge area was way full which made the walk from the dock to the picture point about 50'
We did it then on the other extreme full vrs low. Still was the single best week vacation we ever had. With the cut being open you could avoid the Dam leg so plan a little more time to get up to one of the bays.
Place is beyond words. Wish we lived closer.

I just returned July 3rd from Powell.
Have them scout out Rock Creek Proper (Main Channel) way in the back.
Labyrinth , West Canyon, Dungeon Canyon are also good.
Plenty of places to beach one just has to look earlier in the day.
Run one engine until you get to beach. Alternate to balance gas tanks.
Be sure and use stakes to secure anchors.
I bought concrete stakes 3 feet long at Home depot for 5.00 each to secure the anchors.
I pounded them in front of each of the four anchors.
See Freds Lake Powell and Wanyneswords dot com bulletin board for tips.
