looks like an accident ready to happen with this thing, your suppose to ski, watch out for other traffic and control the pwc on a leash all at the same time. what about the observer with a flag?

So what prevents you from getting a ticket for no observer? :rollside:

There was an article many years back on this thing in another boat mag.
The "Laws" were the issue. This may comply in other countries but in the USA it would not be legal. I thought it went away.
Besides no observer...there is also no flag.

Watch the video's. It has a flag on the new one that pops up when you fall, and it is legal in 40 US states so far.

They are illegal in AZ, simply because of the wording of the law:
ARS 5-346. Water skiing
A. No watercraft which has in tow a person or persons on water skis, a surfboard or similar contrivance shall be operated in or upon any waterway unless such watercraft shall be occupied by at least two persons, an operator and an observer.
Since that has neither, it's operation would be illegal.

(I'm kidding, but just sort of -- unless you declare the guy on the ski to also be the operator, it seems there's nobody to receive the cite! :)) (This is similar to, "If a tree falls and nobody is around, does it still make sound?)
