I have heard of a device that allows you to turn on your A/C via phone. I have not had much luck with web searches. This unit will let you start the A/C before you leave for the river and have a cool house when you get there. Has anyone used one of these they can recomend or know who makes them?

Do a google search for RPS II - Remote Power Switch.
It is made for computers..but it should be able to be used for just about anything...

Mohave Integrated in havasu installed mine, but I keep forgetting to call and haven't used it yet. My house is totally "OVER" insulated, so it doesn't get very hot inside and I leave the temp at about 82.

I hav one and love it. It is hooked up through my alarm company and connects via x10 signal. After 3 years, I finally got it working properly It was programmed incorrectly). Anyhow, if you want to do it yourself, go to www.smarthome.com and check out what's available. You will obviously need to have a hard telephone line connection. If you chose to have someone else do it, check with Double Tree alarm company in Bullhead City. They service Lake Havasu as well. Call (928)768-6000 or (800)847-6757.

I've got an Ethernet adaptor on my server room air conditioner, it e-mails me if anything fails or it gets to hot in the room (which never happens) and I can control it via the Internet from anywhere.....

We have been using one in our river house for about 2 years. Forget the brand. Will try and find it. Works bitchen. You can hook it up yourself.
