Has anyone here done this, how much do you lose, and where is the best place to sell it at? Thank you.

I sold mine via the jeweler I bought it from, and I almost made money after paying the jeweler his consignment %. But, I had a Tiffany 2 karat Princess cut VV1 D color diamond with a platinum setting and band that made it very valuable -over $50K at the time.
I got lucky with my current wife...she proposed to me, and her wedding ring was given to my by her grandmother. Used the money for a blower motor on the boat - which is guaranteed to lose money. :D
I sold my old wedding band on ebay and I think I got about half. It was $4K new (platinum band with 1 karat in diamonds - total Mr. T starter kit) and sold it for $2K.

You get your---
girl back
your best dog back
your old truck back
your lost youth back
just a thought.
Be good, Jim

I think ***boat is setting up a barter section. Maybe you could trade it for something really nice.
I got a 10 Pump BB gun :) :) :)

Sorry, Dave. I was going to give you a little while to enjoy the moment before I provided condolences.
There is a woman out there with the love youre looking for.

What is it worth? Consignment is probably going to be your best bet. But if it is worth a couple thousand or less you might try e-bay or give it to your sister. A couple thousand is cheap compared to if you had gotten married!
You are correct I am very happy that we broke up.
I payed $4,700.00 for it and $1,200.00 for the band but I will take it in the short for sure. :skull:

I would just let her keep the ring , just think of all the money youre going to save now that you're not getting married. :)

Keep it for the next one!!! This way you don't lose anything.
Hell, ROZ would have married you for that.
Not a chance.. maybe a 250k ring, though....
Besides, you're propsing to Phebus in Mexico and Holy Moly will make you a sweet deal!

My sister and brother in-law own a couple jewelry stores. My sister manages their store in Pasadena.

I don't think that is too far from you. Give her a call and maybe take the ring down to her. Maybe you can work something out and not take too big of a loss on it. My sisters name is: Christine.

Not a chance I had to pay her off to break up so the ring is mine. I will get my ear pierced and make an ear ring before she keeps it. :crossx:

If it's insured, take it out somewhere in the middle of a lake or the ocean and throw it in, then file a claim. :D :D :D

Almost as good of an idea as saving for the next woman you propose to, only the insurance company won't kill you...they just break knees. :D
The only problem with saving the ring for another girl is if someone tells her about it.

I came out alright on mine though, at least didn't get hurt that badly. Helps to have a friend in the jewelery biz. ;)

Agree with others. Take to the jeweler you bought it from and see if can put on consignment.

Now that's good.
