Dear Busti's Hot Boat freinds,
I just wanted to let you all know that Richard Bustamante Sr. passed away over the holidays. His ***boat forum name was "BUSTI."
Richard Sr., my father, battled diabetes, kidney disease and other complications resulting from these diseases for over ten years. Outside of his family, his passions were boating and going to his place in Parker. He was 55 years old.
I know he spent a lot of time on these forums arguing, mixing it up and making freinds. I thought you all should know about his passing.
If anybody has been looking for Richard or needed something (I know he had freinds and associates on this forum) please feel free to contact me, Richard Jr., via email.
Richard Bustamante Jr.

God bless you and your family. My mom passed away 3 years ago from diabetes at only 60 years old. It is a hell of a disease as it takes people we love before their time is up. You will be in my prayers.

Richard,
I enjoyed reading and responding to your father's threads. He was a good American. I will miss his wit and emotion when it came to his political threads. Like this one. (http://www.***boat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60479)
It is the sincere hope of our family, you and your family find peace and comfort in the times ahead. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

sorry to hear about your father's passing. although I did not know him personally, I know how hard it is to lose a parent when they are still young. My family also battles diabetes and we know what a difficult disease it can be. Take care of the rest of your family. Best wishes.

Sorry to hear the news. His posts were fun to read. Hope you and your family find peace. I've had two deaths and a stroke in my family the last two weeks and it sure makes mortality that much more real.
Just know that he is still watching you and proud of what he see's I am sure. :)

Richard, my condolences on your loss. Your dad was very "passionate" with his opinions and his view on life. Sometimes seemingly abrasive on the outside in his attempt to get his point across, but in reality a very kind and intuitive gentleman who loved his family very very much. Take pride in the fact he was very proud of you all.
He will be missed,
Traci

We have truly lost a great man!
And one of the most inspirational persons I ever had the privledge to work for.
His wisdom and constant teachings were like no other!!!
Richard gave me guidance in my personal life, when I was going through a custody battle for my two boys Cole and Connor, and a nasty divorce. He told me to go for it and FIGHT for your rights as a father....Those words will ever be engraved in my head!! I am doing so as we speak!!!!
I will miss your father....

I will miss BUSTI,
I did notice he was MIA this year during SC football, I figured he was very busy with Family and work. I recall when he posted some time back about his medical problems and we wished him the best. We used to go back and forth about the two schools and always talked about having a meet and a drink.
I will miss Busti, he was a good guy from what I knew of him.

Richard, I'm so sorry to hear for your loss. :( I only met Richard Sr. once (I met you as well when you picked up my old boat), but he seemed like a hell of a nice guy. I enjoyed seeing the before and after on the restoration of that old Spectra, and I hope that it will continue to be in your family for years to come. My condolensces to you and your family.
