My wife was asking what mufflers you had, she absolutely loved the sound. She liked how it was quiet but still sounded great. We've got a friend with a 26' Venom that she doesnt like riding in because you cant hear anything but the motor (I think its cool, but that makes no difference :) )

Yes, in fact its encouraged, put on by the city, poker runs west and maybe some other folks as well. Its in old town sac, which is pretty much a tourist area anyhow. Theres a couple good restaurants right on the river you can eat and watch the show and also an old paddle boat permanently moored there thats a hotel now. Lots of vendors and stuff that come down and set up boothes, and then of course you know about the boats :) , all in all its a pretty good time. Theres also some after hours activities.....some of which start during the regular hours :crossx:

Are these mounted inside the boat? Our friend with the cobra had a set that were bolted on the exhaust on the outside of the transom, they didnt help a whole lot and looked horrible. Also, we have a tiny v-bottom w/ a (the A means single :) )NA motor of less than 500ci so its not too loud. My wife however is a planner, and she knows I want to go faster.

The muffler for the most part is on the outside of the boat. It just looks like a regular pipe. Here's a pic.

well, i was only a passenger on grads2112's boat, but we did about 100mph through the turn and then 105 through the bridges. at 100, the turn feels okay. but just watching the guys doing 120+ through the turn scares me a bit.
The guys in the Nortech's that ran side by side have some huge guts. they had to take the turn at at least 100mph and the river just isn't that wide there.

I can only speak for myself but I started my turn around 110....I started my turn a little too early therefore stayed in the turn a little too long scrubbing a little too much speed. I've only made one run through there in my life, but I learned that you have to make the turn as close to the shore as possible and get it over with quickly so you can straighten out and fly.
(and my excuses are: first run, so I was cautious, trimmed down, with too much weight...3 people, 2 boxes of spare parts, 12 life jackets, full ice chest, cover, anchor, etc...)
I was really looking forward to my second run on Saturday which I didn't get to make.....but that's what next year's for :p

Well there's no doubt that the Eliminator hauled as$....but there is always more to the story then what you read here.
My hat is off for ALL of you guys that competed! All of you should be wearing a hammock instead of underwear due to the size of your balls! Having to make that turn MUST have been interesting.
Its scary to think about loosing a drive or engine, etc. when approaching the bridge supports. I didnt know some of you had passengers....I figured it was minimum load, fuel, etc. and just the driver. I would have loved to see it all in person.
