Low freon usually, or bad expansion valve if you have one.
At your furnace/air handler, do you have a 1/4" copper line going in with a valve on it that looks like this:

or bad expansion valve .
Doesn't the Evap sensor connect to the exp. valve???? I wanna earn some brownie points too :D :D

I have a line going into the furnace/air handler, it goes into the front and I do not see a valve :)

Then if it looks like this:

It's low freon, or a backed up drain line.
I'm free tomorrow, have gauges & freon and a wet vac to clear the drain,, will travel & work cheap = you have any beer in the fridge???

I used to work on 'em, but didn't pay as well as building airplanes, about 7 years.
Bad expansion valve MAYBE .... but not real likely.
Normally either low on refrigerant (causing the coil to drop below 40*F surface temp)
OR
Clogged filter preventing airflow from "heating" the coil to 40*F. There has to be enough airflow thru it to keep the refrigerant from cooling the coil TOO far, it's a "balance" thing.

This chart got squished in the cut and paste.
But if you line up the psig in the left colum,, then follow down the second colum which is the air temp through the coil with Freon 22,, you'll see as the pressure drops, the temp drops.
When you get below 58 lbs (suction),, then ya hit 32 degrees and in this very humid weather the moisture in the air will freeze on your coil.
You probably have the fixed metering device.
Make sure your air filter is super clean, drain line super clear and flowing.
A wet vac on the end of the drain helps clear it. If it has a vent on the drain, put your thumb over it when ya vac.
Chunks of insulation, filter material, dust bunnies,, algae can easily clog it up causing water to flow where ya don't want it that can be mistaken for iceing.

or a clogged drain line, or low gas pressure.

Don't discount dirty coils. Dust or fur on the evap coils will retain moisture and lead to freeze up.
Also check the evap drain. If it's not draining and there's water in the pan, it may be causing too high humidity in the evap chamber.

Our honeymoon at the Hard Rock Hotel.
Wife putting on mood music. The suite has several sound & video systems, 4 rooms.
They were cool. For $98 per nite they gave us the best suite in the Hotel when we mentioned we're getting married.
I was taking pics out the window with her POS Olympus camera, turned around and snapped this real quick. Grainy and blurry, the camera sux.
She's cool about posting it, she has butt floss on BTW.

If you haven't had it serviced for years or changed your filter regularly its most likely a dirty filter or coil. Some people close off vents in unused rooms to try and get more air into some other part of the house. That's a no no. It will work ok in heating but don't do it in cooling. You want all the air flow you can get in cooling.
I have never seen a coil ice up because of a plugged drain line in my 40 years of service. The air side of the coil has to be around 32* for moisture to freeze to it and a plugged drain wont cause that. So if you have a plugged drain don't stop there because you have another problem.
For the air side to be 32* the inside of the coil has to be lower than that because you lose about 5* from heat transfer thru the copper. Your suction can run as low as 55 psig and your coil won't ice. Anything below 55 psig it will ice up. . A bad TXV is rare but it happens if you have one.
AIR FLOW make sure all the register are open.
If you start your unit and your getting plenty of air and its cooling ok and then your air flow starts dropping off in the first half hour to 45 mins you have a dirty coil. A dirty coil will let some air flow but once the lint, dust, dog hair or what ever gets wet from the condensation created on the coil it will just about stop all air flow and heat transfer and the coil will drop to below freezing.
LOW CHARGE make sure coil is clean before this test.
Start your unit and let it run for 5 to 10 mins. Go out side to the condensing unit and feel the larger of the 2 copper lines. It should be cold to the touch or a least cool. If it is cold your freon is ok. If it is warm then it is most likely low on charge or a resriction on the hi side.
Really need a lot more info to troubleshoot...but the above 2 problems are the cause of the coil icing up 90% of the time.

We don't know if it's iced up or a drain problem Hal until I look at it this weekend.
All we know now is water is intermittantly coming outta the A coil.
