How much does a 5 gallon plastic bottle weigh when it is full of silver change? How much do you thinks in it as well.

I bet it weighs alot. And I bet there is a million trillion dollars in it too. :rollside:
Actually, I'd guess a couple grand, yes?

We have one about 1/3rd full. Must weight 65lbs or more. I think there could be 2-3k in there. I told the wife we are saving for a dream vacation somday. Maybe a great barrier reef diving trip. :)

I have one that is about half full. My wife took $500 out of it one day and it did not even leave a dent.
We are hoping for a dream vacation one day also!

I've had ~$130 in almost full ziploc freezer bag for reference. A 5 gallon plactic jug to the top, I'd say somewhere around $5k

A friend of mine filled one, had about 5K in it. I have one about 2/3 full, its heavy! Told my wife when its full, we'll go to Hawaii. Till then, Havasu baby!

I could take it to the store and have the Green change counter count it and take 10%

I filled one with quarters once 15 " high . Was low on $ one month for the car payment . Took the $ out & paid the car off ,don't remember but at least $ 2,000

Figure out the volume of the jug, then the average weight of all coins, that should get you the answer.

mine got half way full all silver and it had around 2600. my old roommate filled his up to the top. then we all went to vegas to cash it in. we had all the coins in back packs.so at the casino we could transfer it into the buckets. he was to cheap to pay the coin star. he ended up with 5600.00 by the end of the weekend. we kept going down in shifts to cash in the change. :rollside:

My credit union has one of those machines and they only charge 3%. The best thing to do is take it to Vegas as one person said.

It will seem like a big hit when they take out their share :yuk: but it would take forever to roll the coins :yuk:
Mine has various coins and bills, Vegas might be the easier route  but you may loose your savings

most banks will do it for free if you have X amount in the bank. If they won't tell them you want a check, your closing all your acoounts. Works for me every time i have a prob with a bank.

I have a stupid “Colorado Belle“ souvenir “schooner” (for a Hurricane) filled and it has around 150.00 bucks in it but it was all mixed change.
My question is how long does it take to fill a Sparklets bottle up? And talk about weight…even my stupid little schooner must weight 40 lbs when full so I can’t imagine what a 5 gal container would weigh…I guess you could get a 1/2 gallon container (maybe a cleaned milk carton) fill it up and weigh it and times it by 10…let us know what the out come is…would be interesting…of course, I may be dead by then but what the hell…. :crossx:

That's my theory. When she gets old enough, I'll get her a set of bolt-on's, and a country club membership, and just marry her rich. :D

Funny story about change in bottles.
When I was in college I lived in a pretty ran down apt complex. One night there was a bunch of yelling. The next door neighbors (a scummy looking white trash couple) were fighting. The boyfriend was down in the parking lot while she was throwing stuff off the balcony at him. The next thing we see is her rolling a glass 5gallon Sparklets bottle about half full of change out on the the balcony. She manages to hoist it over the rail and pushes it over on to the hood of his car. She was a skinny looking crack addict looking girl; we were supprised she got it over the rail.
He was down there till the next morning sweeping and picking up change. What a mess, not to mention he needed a new hood on his car.
For about 2 months, we would find change under our cars, in the lawn all over the place. If we needed to do laundry, we would just head down to the parking lot to get some change...LOL. :D

I dont know at to days gas prices that 3 -10 % might be better off , plus it might not leave it all in Vegas for someone else like myself

The glass ones are really dangerous.
I had one on a shelf about 3/4 full with change. When I took it off the shelf the bottom of the jug just tapped the shelf. It blew out the bottom of the glass jug and sheared off the back of my heal clean.
Was not a good day!
