my brother-inlaw is into prospecting and really enjoys it. no matter where he goes he will come home with a couple 5 gallon buckets of stuff to pan. :)

I dabble in this as well. I usually go to Azusa canyon (So. Cal) at the East Fork to sluice and pan. I have found a few small nuggets (size of an eraser) and quite a bit if flake (placer gold) however the more interesting stuff I have un earthed is square nails, a pair of “granny” glasses, old gun barrel, belt buckles, lead slugs and a smashed old ring. :D
None of it is worth much but it’s priceless to me. The summer months are the most fun because the water is refreshing when it’s so hot. :)
Another favorite spot is “Bloody Gulch” in Holcombe Valley, N. of Big Bear Lake…have found some color their as well. :crossx:
