All right here it is!! My 21ft center console open bow tunnel! I've ran this for years at Parker and had tons of fun with it! This boat runs HARD! It is for sale, minus motor $6500. I can turn 6600rpm no problem. (468 8-71 750's 8 lbs boost)new imco tanks, Barber strut, trans and engine coolers included. I am having my first baby! Thanks! I will be out of town for 14 days but my long time friend on here is Lilrick he knows quite a bit about my boat! Big "D"

Uh, excuse my stupidity, but it's not going to run HARD! with no motor. Why bother telling us it's a blown 468 turning 6600 RPM if you're gonna keep the engine?

Because most v-drive people would like to know what kinda motor/v-drive gear/ rpm set up was used. But Your a very smart person to realize a boat doesn't run HARD without a engine. Thanks....DUH!!!!

O.k. A while back, on another v-drive tunnel thread, someone said the only tunnel produced by Campbell was destroyed after winning an endurance race.
So, is this tunnel a factory tunnel or a modification?
How does it handle? I know you said it was ran hard, but what does that mean? Speed, turning, ride, and etc.

Dude, you're new here... when you visit someone's house for the first time don't wear muddy shoes into the living room. Cool boat though, it's super clean.

Holy: I know of at least three other 20' Campbell tunnels. Martin Fracini has a blue and white one with a single tunnel like this, powered by a tunnel ram high-comp BBC. There's also a gentleman in the San Diego area with a red and white one setup as a ski boat, and another blue one (I forget where from) that I recall being pretty rough and needing a full resto.
I had a conversation about these boats with Freddy from Campbell (he's been the main mechanic there for at least 25 years), and he said what they used to do is put a modified runner or box down the middle of the mold to create the tunnel. There is also apparently a twin tunnel version (like a Stoker) running around somewhere.

that boat would be just about perfect for my tribe (family).
Now, if I can just sell my Campbell less motor - I would be set. :D

Looking at the rear views on these boats it looks like only half the prop would be in the water when on plane. And it looks like the wrong prop for that. Should this hull run something closer to a hydro prop?

More than likely, these boats are not running fast enough to be airing out the tunnel to require a surface prop. And, even if they are fast, hard to tell how much air they actually compact. But, I bet the ride is night and day in the rough stuff.

This site is kinda funny...When I am at the river I meet the coolest people that like to hang out. Yes on here I am new but there is a very limited group of cool people. I posted my boat pics on here because a few weeks ago someone was asking about it. Also I understand the spam deal I just mentioned its forsale minus motor, it's not a boat trader add...did you even see a phone #! Really it seems like a few on here like to nit pic and talk more crap than hang out and talk boats and mabe get a little info.
Someone asked about how it handles, I moved the strut forward tried many props I like 2 blade not a Hydro prop. A hydro prop gives a wierd lift pushing the nose, standard prop carries the nose better. It does take the rough very well for it's size, it is a little picky where people sit, I mean weight side to side it just makes it easier when you kinda balance it some..

I like it. Sent you a PM.
My questions were serious on the previous posts, and mr. InKahntrol, aka Campbell Guru, answered my questions quite well.
Is the motor out yet? I would like to go for a ride.:D

Hi Dan,
Impressive answers and library of Campbell Tunnel photos. I think Martin Frasini is still trying to work the bugs out of his Campbell tunnel. It is a pretty fresh restoration, he keeps the boat at Havasu. I think the problems/bugs are more engine related than hull or handling problems. He hasn't been able to get the engine to RPM as well as he feels it should but is making some headway now.

put my boat on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190017091418#ebayphotohosting) less motor to see if I can sell it before ITL RUN(Dan) gets back from his trip. I am selling my Campbell less motor. Check out spam section for info and pics.

I hope you get it Frank. Could not go to a more loyal Campbell freak.
I think this boat is really cool. It's already got the 3 row theater seating and a nice stage. Put a brass pole up front and start the show! :crossx:

I wouldn't describe myself as a loyal Campbell freak...just a nostalgic v-drive boat freak in general.
Brass pole? you trying to get me divorced or something? The only show you would see on the midget boat is serious beat down by my wife. :D

quick question.........with the prop in the tunnel and it looks as if one blade is aways out of the water..........does it blast a big roster or what?
