(CBS) LOS ANGELES A 20-year-old man was booked Friday night on suspicion of murdering his parents and his teenage sister, who were found dead at the family's Northridge home.
David Menard, 56, and his wife Toni Menard, 55, were found stabbed to death in their home in the 17000 block of Stare St. at about 6 a.m., Los Angeles police Officer Norma Eisenman said. Ashley Menard, 16, was found in the backyard, also stabbed death.
Brandon Menard met responding officers Friday morning and told them he found his parents inside the home. Officers found Ashley Menard's body in the backyard.
"This is an absolute tragedy, an enormous loss, not only for that family, but for the community, and it's something that's gathering our full attention," LAPD Deputy Chief Michael Moore said before the arrest.
Mike McCrea, a Los Angeles firefighter who lives across the street from the Menard home, told the Daily News that the family seemed like normal neighbors.
"It's just bizarre. You feel bad for the family, bad for Brandon, bad for Scott," McCrea was quoted as saying.
Added Lindsay Edell, 15: "She was never ever mean to anyone."
Menard is being held without bail, LAPD spokesman Jason Lee said.
Anyone with more information about the killings was asked to call police at (877) LAWFULL.

they interviewed one of the neighbors on tv last night and she said the kid (accused of murder) "looked like columbine" - he was walking around looking out of it wearing a black trench coat...

I didnt see anything about it on the TV news. Am sure we will find out was either over drugs or money.
