Whats the Best Route??

Hey Guys,
Im driving to Atlanta, GA at the end of this week and Im looking for the best route. I can take 40 across the top or the 10 to the 20 down through the south. I was wandering what you guys think is the best way to go from experience. I have 4 days to get out there and Im looking for the best stops to take aswell that are safe towns to sleep in. If anyone has any tips that would be truly appreciated.

40E. to just west of Knosville TN~ 75 S. through Chattanooga TN.
75 runs you right into ATL. = Quickest
40 E. to 26 E. to 85 S. if you want a more scenic route. brings you through the gourge. Blue ridge mountains , Cherokee National Forrest . Nantahalla. ect.
Give me a yell if you come through WNC.
