Does anyone have an aerial pic of Copper Canyon? I am looking for the one that was taken a few years back on a major holiday weekend.
Thanks

How the hell do you get out of there if youre right in the middle of this?

More importantly, if you're boat hopping, how the hell do you get back for more beer!

I have heard stories of pretty unhappy people getting stuck in the middle for several hours :yuk:

I can just see myself taking my boat there, boat hopping, getting drunk and then not being able to find my boat back!

That is the way I remember it back in the early 90s. Dont be the first into the canyon on Holiday weekends if you want out that day. A buddy of mines boat sunk being crushed by the crowd of boats. Low freeboad 18' didnt fare to well!

Yup, Sandbar is closed. And no, it doesn't get like that anymore. They have a lane going through Copper on big weekends. I was there for the 4th of July this year and I swear there were more people in the Canyon this past weekend than the 4th.

I dont live out there anymore but my understanding is Copper Canyon is closed on Holidays. If I remember right they closed CC because of the lack of ability to provide emergency services in the back of the canyon. Dont know for sure though.

It's open, they just have a lane going through for emergency vessels.

I love a good party crowd, but that's a little much. And wouldn't want to have the boat get screwed up from it.

Yes...I can remember many a big weekend being stuck in there. Most of the time, that's where you wanted to be, since the channel sucked back then.
Oh the stories I could tell if I had any decent braincells left...

There is a photo shop in the London Bridge complex that sells the aerial shots, at least they use to. I have 4 or 5 poster shots of the Sandbar before they started closing it on the big holidays.
