59 f100....I am almost done with the engine and interior. It has a heated up 223 inline 6cyl. with headers, elec. ign. and split headers. Its a pretty impressive lil truck for what it is. Now I need to get some paint and wheels. Wheels is the easy part since my pops owns a custom tire and wheel shop. It aint much but I just love this old truck...heh
Anyways there is a pic of MY truck and a pic of what I want to emulate when its done. I have a bit of work to do but the biggest thing at this point is Paint.
My Truck....

Too many choices when it comes to wheels. I am also considering the Smooth faced solid Centerline wheel...

Nice truck. What is the engine out of? Original? Would be nice to throw a 312 in there!

Now that's what I call a tow rig! The bumber that is off of a 53-55 F100.
I think that a 300 6cyl would be a good swap. I used to have one with a shaved head, crane 272 cam,Hooker headers and an Offenhauser 4bbl intake. That thing as fun.
Very nice truck!

I decided to stick with my 223 il6 "Origonal" and make power with that. Its actually pretty impressive now. Bumped up wht compression, some bigger valves and a torque cam from Clifford Performance. I used the Clifford 4-barrel with a 500CFM edelbrock carb. Electronic ignition helped out ALOT as well. This thing can get out of its own way now...Lemme tell ya
I considered a 500ci caddy engine, 300 il6, turbo buick GN motor and a 2.3 turbo tbird setup...I ended up doing it the hard way...haha...Story of my life!!!
The bumper is gonna go...Replaced with the same aftermarket bumper on the other truck.
I would like to put a 5spd trans in it for the highway. Still deciding on which one would locate the shifer best.
Cheers,
Brad

I meant that the bumper on the green truck is from a 55F100. I used to have a 55 F100 That looks just like my old bumper. I can't remember but one of the bumpers looked like a curved piece of C-channel and the other looked the same with the corners turned in.

With the little engine, you might want to think about using a gearvendors overdrive and a 4 speed. Depending on the transmission you use, you will get 8 forward gears. (I'm running a SM465 - Granny Low in mine and only get 7 forward gears).
Here is a picture of mine ( I know... it's a chevy...)

Yes..I knew what ya meant...The bumper on my truck is from the next Gen. I want the simple look of the other bumper.

Love your truck. Would like to see more pics. What eng. are you running?? Was the trans the stocker or what??
So you are talking about a Splitter to make it a 2-speed trans?? Like what is in Trucks basically...

Yes,
GearVendors makes a 2 speed that bolts directly to the back of most transmissions replacing the current tailstock.
I'm running an old 327 in mine. I don't think it is the original engine as in '64 you couldn't get a 327, but parts of it might be original. When I bought it (in New Mexico) it actually had a 3 speed with a "vintage overdrive". The kind with the sprag that freewheels when you decelerate. I hated it, so replaced it with a rebuilt SM465. The only problem is with 28" tires in the rear and 3.73s, the thing sounded like it was gonna come apart on the freeway. And no one really likes a driver that gets 9 MPG. ;-) So, I added the GearVendors 2 speed which gives me ~30% over in the top three gears. Runs about 2500 on the freeway now (guessing as I haven't installed a tach yet) and gets 14.5 MPG. OH, and third over is an animal.
I'll post some more pictures later.
