We are thinking about heading out to Laughlin this weekend. Was wondering what hotels have fairly decent security watching over the parking lots so I dont get stuff stolen out of the boat. Was looking at the River Palms.?.?

We stayed they a few times. Boats are parked on top of the parking structure and a lot adjacent to it. I don't thunk there is much security but we have not had a problem but we also don't leave anything for them to steal other than a cooler or two.
I like the Golden Nugget best.

Harrahs has a nice beach and a pool but its a pretty penny..
Riverside has good prices + everything - movie theatre, bowling alley, arcade, lots of slots, etc... but it has become very run down.
After you decide on your hotel, I'd recommend Edgewater downstairs at the Hickory Pit for the best steaks on the River. They also make their own water and its very good.
They opened a Joes Crabshack at the Golden Nugget
Across the river in Bullhead is Iguana's for some really good Mexican food also
g00d Luck!

Alot of boats are always parked at the Edgewater. Do they have security?

Nothin' really to do at the Palms, the rooms are so-so IMO, but they are the cheapest in town right now - cheaper than a camp spot at NMP!
Nugget is the nicest IMHO. The boat parking is across Casino Dr, but there is a person who lives in the lot (mobile hm) and watches the place. It's not a bad walk from the rooms either (better than the riverside....always hated dragging the coolers and the kids chit through the casino there).
Avi is nice for sure, but it's way south of town and if you're boating on the lake, you're much better off in Laughlin.

Apatizerzs (sp) go to the Colorado Bell, upstairs, they got a great seafood place. The wife and I get a shrip cocktail and somtimes crab.
Joes Crabshack is good.
Best restaunt is at the Riverside, the Gormet Room. IMO of course.
Hickery pit is awsome too. Cheeper than the Gormet Room
Gamble at the Riverside and tip your dealer. The pit boss' get a cut, so if you tip, you get comped.
The Bell has some nice rooms. I like the rooms between the Bell casino at the bell and the Edgewater. Right on the boardwalk.

Do not leave anything of value in any parking lot, even the "secured parking ones " !! Was at Ramada a month ago and had the stereo amps stolen early
Sunday morning, this was after the security told me to park right here,I park my
truck right over there, so your boat will the watched very well...

Though the Riverside is shopworn, it has the most to do at nite after ya burn out gambling;
Two clubs with live bands, movies, a lounge / showroom act or two + more entertainment & stuff to stumble around and check out for the mostly over 28 year old crowd than the other casinos.
Nice cheap Prime Rib room too.
The property and employees are in visable pain though. Employees have a same-day-worked pay window on the main casino floor that tells a sad story iMHO.
We used to stay at Harrahs all the time formerly called the Del Rio.
Several times at Harrahs we were at Blackjack tables that were on a roll winning.
They closed the tables, and suggest everyone go to another table.
We don't trust those Harrahs folks.
Also, if you call security at Harrahs, they probably won't respond:
Among sever incidences (usually fights on thir beach or the dance bars) where they never made an appearance, Hells Angel Steve beat the crap outta two punk gang bangers outside his room in the hallway and security never showed.
Got his room comp'd for his trouble though.
The gang bangers were drunk and beating on the guestroom doors challenging whoever answered to a fight right there in the hallway.
The hotel guests were calling security and security never showed opting instead to call the Las Vegas PD.
Yea, it's the Las Vegas PD in Laughlin.
The LVPD was on another call on the other side of town so we were on our own
It was one hell of a scene.
The punks woke Hells Angel Steve and his ol' lady Teri, then Steve being a man of few words quickly granted their request.
He's very good at that kinda stuff.
