Don't know. I noticed the same thing. Got in my truck and Mariah Carrey was on 93.9. Switched it and then went back on the presets and same thing. Hopefully I don't have to re-program my stations. I will definitely not listen to 93.9 if Mariah Carrey is on it!!! :yuk:

I sent them an email. It's strange, because some of the commericals are for KZLA, but the station that is on right now is referring themselves to 93.9, which is KZLA's call numbers. Also, did you hear Rick Dees on there too.

That's what I said, I don't want to listen to that crap they are playing, to many stations are playing that junk. They were also saying that Rick Dees is coming to this channel, back to radio on the Mix 93.9. :yuk: :yuk:

I got tired of Peter Tilden and stopped listening to KZLA as a result. That and I now listen XM almost exclusively.

They might just be, trying to cross format it. Pretty much just seeing what the public thinks. If it is still like this on monday then more then likely it will stay. Check out www.musicbiz.com it's a company I used to work for and they pretty much cover all the news crap that's going on in radio.

Maybe they will make it into the next KNAC.
God knows we need some metal in LA.

Just went to KZLA's website and saw this:
"Dear Faithful KZLA Listeners:
KZLA is working to make country music available to everyone as soon as possible. Coming soon KZLA will be streaming live on kzla.com and is currently available on HD radio. We encourage you to join our "Country Club" fan base to get the latest updates on KZLA streaming, music, concerts and course, COUNTRY BASH 2006 on Saturday October 14, 2006."
So what's up with that? The new station is even using their phone number.
Guess that happen's when Peter goes on vacation.

Here is the info you are looking for. It comes down to what can make you more money and the beginning of HD radio.
KZLA/L.A. Gets Movin'
Aug. 17, 2006
By Keith Berman
We teased that something big might be happening with consultant Alan Burns' rhythmic AC format known as "Movin,'" and this morning (Aug. 17) Emmis detonated country on KZLA/Los Angeles and installed "Movin' 93.9" in its place. Market god Rick Dees signs on to do mornings on the new station, which is calling itself "The Mix That Makes You Move."
This "move" marks Dees' triumphant return to the Los Angeles airwaves, following his March 2004 exit from mornings at crosstown Clear Channel CHR/top 40 KIIS, where he ruled for more than 20 years.
KZLA's country format, which has been on since the early '80s, moves over to its HD2 channel and will stream on the station's Web site.
While the fate of the entire KZLA country staff isn't known, PD R.J. Curtis will remain with the station in the near term to help with the transition.
In the most recent Arbitron ratings, KZLA scored a 1.7 12+, which ranked it No. 20 in the market. In the 25-54 demo, KZLA ranked No. 21 in Los Angeles with a 1.8 share.

I will not listen to any station that has Rick Dees on it. That dude is totally full of himself and fails to create anything original. He just likes to rip off ideas from everyone else.
Even without him, I will 86 that station from my presets based on the total crap they were playing this morning. At least us Ventura County folks have KHAY for some country stuff.

they just announced it on the ch 7 news, no more country, it will be Movin 93.9 with that fag Rick Dees in the morning. :yuk: :yuk: :yuk:

Many years in radio...last was running one in Palm Springs with Kfrog the home of my market manager. Kfrog is making huge dollars, we liked to joke that they just printed it for the home office in New York. The bottom line is that KZLA has no real signal to speak of, (no solid market coverage) tried for years to do country in LA and wound up ranked #21 with a 1.8 share. Bottom line...no money to be had. Format change. I retired after 30 years and about as many format changes...love my XM. Sorry you guys and ladies, I am a big Country fan and moan your loss. Jus...give it away!
