Take a trip to www.pegasushobbies.com in Montclair. Cool place. With a track in back.
I have a Traxxas .25 truck and a JAmmin' Truggy both from Pegasus. Knowledgeable staff available, good selection, prices are fair.
Just bout my son a Team Losi mini truck last week (DUAL electric motors Ha Ha!) that is a scream. 165.00 ready to roll. I would reccomend another battery.
All my stuff is nitro.
PM me if you need more info.

You looking for gas or electric??? Any hobby store. I recommend a Team Losi then a Team Associated...if its just to mess with the Traxxas are cheaper.

Stay away from the duratrax warhead monster truck.
Its a real pain in the ass to get started and to keep it running.

You can't go wrong with the ready to run Tarxxas stuff.
I have all Nitro stuff from them but it has held up failry well and parts are easy to get. Yes you will need parts. Especially after it hits a curb at 30 mph.
They have a decent website.
Moved on to Ofna now but this is getting out of control $$ wise. Unless you race all the time what you got there will be a hoot.

Team Associated RC10T4 electric Stadium Truck. Very durable. I run the GT which is the gas version. Almost indestructible. Good choice for the youngsters! There in Costa Mesa, Stop by and take a tour. Most likely they will have one available for a demonstration. Call them prior to arrival if you want a tour. Make sure when you buy electric to buy a good battery and a quality charger. Check out the link for more information

Traxxas however does make a good product also. They have great customer service if you have questions on setup or questions with warranty. Don't judge the quality by the looks of the body. Cause you are going to have to repair it sooner or later and nothing can be more frustrating than fixing R/C cars.

What do those little F1 boats run? They'd be fun in the pool for sure! Don't think the salt water would be good tho...

KILR- One thing to check is which company makes the most replacement parts. I used to be into these things and they can be money pits!!! Get ready for broken suspension parts like crazy. Pegasus is good, people are knowledgable and prices are good. Hobby people seems to have a bunch of half knowledge teens working there. I personally like the associated trucks.
