Almost 2 years ago when my son Garrett was born 9 weeks premature at only 3.8 lbs and was in the NICU for 27 days. This is him as ringbearer in my cousins wedding last weekend.

Awesome...my daughter was a preemy (4lbs/2 oz) and in NICU for 10 days. I can appreciate all of your emotions...then and now.

That's awesome LRB...My son was in the NICU for only four days when he was born and I thought that was a long time. 27 days must have been crazy!!! I felt horrible for the peeps that were looking at us when we left because they knew exactly how many days our son was there and their children were there for more than two months...something I'll never forget.
God Bless you and yours!!!!!!

Oh, man, I remember that feeling. There was a young couple with twins who were something like 800 grams each...looked like little toys. They were already there for months and had many more to go. I felt like a jerk taking my girl home after only 10 days. The wife was teary eyed while she watched us "pack our baby up".

I hear ya...we were able to touch our son "skin on skin" as they say. There were people there looking at us just the same. Just goes to show how blessed we are.

Adorable picture. My life has changed since my little boy. The most work I have ever done but I wouldn't change a minute of it. I can never understand the people that don't take care of their kids or hurt them or something. It breaks my heart everytime he cries.

Thanks everybody. He is truly the greatest blessing of my life.
Hopefully you’ll still be able to say that when he’s in high school. :D :D
He’s a good looking little guy.

Great news! My son was 6 weeks early and just over 4 lbs. They get big fast. Enjoy these moments while you can.

My grandson was born at 26 weeks. 1lb 13oz. He stayed in the hospital for close to 3 months. Gramma's hand is for size comparison at 1 day old.

Here he is about 2 years old, photo was taken about a year ago. He is almost 3 now. Time really flies. Gramma is keeping him out of trouble.

I had to edit due to minor error. Born at 26 weeks instead of 27 weeks early. Oops! Nov 11 instead of Feb 23 due date.

The Doctors and nurses in the NICU are truly amazing and loving with the babies.
One of the nurses told me that when the parents aren't at the hospital, that they love the babies for them.

Congrats!
He looks great!
Our friends oldest son was a premie (back in 1988-89?) Anyway he was so tiny we had to buy him cabbage patch kid clothes to wear.
Now he is big! and healthy:D

We have been very blessed and lucky, at this point he has not had any medical complications due to him being a premie.
