Hello all! new newb here

Just signed up,don't have a boat as of yet but I'm shopping and found this forum so I signed up to learn what I can.
Looking and used jet boats in the $5K to $7K range.
Never had a nice boat but I'm an old hot rodder from way back so I know motors.
Had my share of fast cars and am a long time Harley rider but I thought it was time to try something else so I'm a wannabe an look'n.
I've got a bike for sale or trade for a boat that I'm asking $5500 for and have $2500 cash saved up so hopefully my bike sells soon and I can go shopping. :)
I like both BB Chevys & Fords but don't really know much about the jet drives,what can ya'll tell to look for and what brands/models are good better best etc.
I need to learn all I can before I go shopping so help a newb out 'eh guys.

The bike for sale is a 2004 Sportster 883 with only 1000 miles on it.
Wife wasn't riding it and wanted a new Mustang convertible that was out of her price range so I bought the bike ( that I bought her :rolleyes: ) from her to help her get her dream car.
It has new Vance & Hines pipes and isn't even broke in yet.

Hey I just signed up here not too long ago myself. Ill bet you are the kind of guy who rides an electra glide up into the mountains lol. Does Bert know you are getting rid of the sporty?
Dean, Id trade ya my boat and some cash for the bike but you live too far from Indiana.
The only problem with a jet drive, is that the low speed manuverability really sucks. At least mine does.

Hey there Greg...I'm not to worried about low speed manuvers, we have big lakes up here in the mountains surrounded by those green things these guys down in Havasu haven't seen before lol. :)

When it comes to jet boats. If you want to go fast look for a berkeley or clone( american turbine, aggressor, domanator) Jacuzzi and panther s are fine for a family ski boat, just not great if you want to go fast. When it comes to motor Olds are fine if your looking for a family ski boat. If you want to go fast get a ford, chevy or be a nut like me with a pontiac... :)

I'm not going to be racing,just playing on the lake and towing tubes and skiers.
I do like to go fast but being a newb I won't be pushing it for some time.

It ain't the best stuff to ride on that's for sure.

We get down your way about once a year,love riding in Az. and been most every where North of Phoniex from Havasu to the hills up around Payson and all over the Sedona,Williams and Flagstaff areas as well as most of old Rt66 in Az.
Love that ride up through Jerome.
