We got back on Wednesday, just before the big hurricane.
We had a great time! All inclusive vacations are fun. Time for the treadmill though.
Anyways, here is a pic of the famous arch.http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/3295Cabo_2006_106.jpg
The fishing was great!!! Most people caught 5-10 yellowfin per day. Unfortunately, we scheduled our 1 day of fishing on the 1 day it rained. We still caught some good ones though.http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/3295Cabo_2006_089.jpg
The swim up bar was not bad. Nothing name brand behind the bar, just the basics. Even my girls started ordering virgin miami vices. They loved it.http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/3295Cabo_2006_149.jpg http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/3295Cabo_2006_020.jpg
The resort had a turtle hatchery and we got to release some newly hatched turtles. This was a highlight for sure!http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/3295Cabo_2006_046.jpg http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/500/3295Cabo_2006_049.jpg
All in all, it was okay. If I do another Mexico trip, it will be back to Puerto Vallarta. We like it better there.
I'm ready to get back to the river though.
C-ya.

I hear ya. If they could lose 80% of the beach vendors, and modernize the airport, Cabo would be a lot more fun. The wait in the airport for the flight back a month ago was hell.
What resort has the turtle hatchery? That's very cool. :)

Those releasing of the turtle pics are great! Looks like a Loggerhead.
The 50# tuna's are good too! How far offshore did you get into those?

Not sure on the type of turtles. They told us, but I can't remember. Loggerhead sounds familiar though.
As far as the tuna goes, we went to Gordo Banks. It is about 2-3 miles off shore. The bite was soooo good, the crew on my snorkeling trip from Cabo to Santa Maria Bay was trolling while heading out. They caught 1 dorado and 1 yellowfin. We were less than a mile off shore, banana tubes full of kids being towed by, jet skies, parasailers all around us and water taxis everywhere.

I love Mexico but also prefer Puerto Vallarta.
we have been going there for 8+ yrs and bought timeshare then we bought a home, Great investment, and looked at all the options and found that PV is not nearly as vulnerable re hurricanes etc,
I started doing mortgages in PV and Cabo and have been selling real estate to freinds, its alot of fun and exciting
anyone have ?'s re the process or options dont hesitate to touch base,

Looks like fun. How was that hotel with the kids? We've stayed at the Melia next door, I think, but it's been years. We are thinking of going over Christmas and have a 14 year old and a 10 year old. Turtles would be cool. :D

Mexico is a trip. In Hawaii you will get 20 to life for touching a turtle. In Mexico you can ride them in the ocean and get your picture taken. :)

The kids loved it. I was disappointed with the service though. As far as the turtles go, I'm not sure if they will be hatching then. What they do is patrol the beaches at night and look for turtles to lay there eggs. Once the turtles are done, they retrieve the eggs and bury them in the hatchery by the Presidente Intercontental. So, unless some hatch, all you will is a fenced in area with staked signs designating info for each batch.

I have to admit I was very surprised at how they allowed people to handle the turtles. To be honest, once they passed the turtles out to everyone, there was no accountability. Someone could have kept one if they wanted. I've been to Australia and watched the same thing. They were very protective. They allowed a photo op, but with one turtle. Then once they released them, nobody could get near.

Looking at the website, it looks like the Presidente is closer to San Jose (could be wrong). I'm looking to stay within walking distance of CSL, but on the Gulf side.

You are correct. It is in San Jose Del Cabo. 30 min drive to CSL Marina.
We were looking for a more family friendly location.
