He was a smart guy who did amazing work. Fear is what he was best at removing when being w/ these animals cause he knew what they were able to do and would not get into those positions w/ the animals. Truly sad that the stingray could not have had worse aim and done less damage. Sad day for me/all.....godspeed.

With all the stuff he's done, he was living on borrowed time. I'm guessing his last words were "Look at that stingray - she's beauuuutiful!!!"
RIP Steve...

.
Respectfully I'll disagree...slipping on a banana peel would be more a "freak deal" way of going for this fellow.

This is attached to what the news says is a very docile fish. Not in this particular case.
the news has started in on his antics, showing him holding his baby while feeding a Crock, and other stuff. Trying to paint a negative picture of the guy as the news most always does to people. Its a shame.

No offence, but he did a good job painting a negative picture of himself. I also hate to say this now that he is dead... he had it coming. The way he messed with dangerous aminal it was only a matter of time. On one of his shows they actaully showed were a croc took part of his finger. If you play with fire, you will get burned.
I have cuaght "sting rays" fishing, they are any thing but docile. In fact its alot harder to deal with them then sharks of the same size.

i cant believe this happened either, i mean what are the chances that a stingray will get you right in the heart. the accuracy to make it to the heart passed every bone and organ just amazes me. im sure he would have picked dyin this way tho, doin what he loved to do!

They claim the people filming have it on tape of him trying to remove the stinger before he died.

I will always remember watching him up to his waist in mud, holding a big stick above his head, and looking at the mud. He was watching for bubbles to show him were the crocodile was. The bubbles were coming up inches from his right leg. Oh boy, did that ever make me laugh. :D
He's a great man and he did it his way. I admire his life and his verve for nature.
Godspeed, Steve Irwin.
I wonder if his last wishes are to be fead to a ravenous group of crocs?

Well, I think he would have wanted us to learn about the animals.
For instance, the stingray has a relative that actually jumps out of the water.
