well, some preliminary results at least. We've had 1 pull so far and then snapped the throttle cable. Motor is not fullly tuned in yet either. We now have a 620ci motor built by Motor Machine in Sacramento.
so, here it is for the first pull:
970 hp at 5900 RPM's and 4 lbs of boost
We have some tuning left to do today and will crank up the boost. I think we'll set it up to run on 6 to 7 lbs of boost and run it on pump gas. I'll post more later today if/when I have more info.

Congrats. That's going to be a lot of fun. Hope the rest of the tuning session goes well and you're out on the water soon.
Congrats again,

well, we also need to pick up some more pulleys so we can do some more test runs at different boost. still waiting to hear from the motor shop so i can go down there and take some video.

Go with hemi purple to make it look like a real engine.

they sure turn out alot better if you paint them before you put them together. But now that you are at this point why stop at the valve covers? Just rattle can the entire mofo purple. lol j/k mang, nice numbers
So you are dead set on pump gas hu? Cheapest part in that engine is the fuel.

Jory at SOS Marine is going to paint it. he wants to wait until after the dyno tests cuz he didn't want the paint to get scratched up. He tapes everything off, then uses car paint. I've seen his work on another motor and it looks pretty good.

Thanks...like I'm going to trust you. I'm okay with Jory adding some black to it to darken up a little.

There's nothing wrong in painting a motor in pastels.

Don't forget to have them epoxy the oil pump pickup tube to the pump for that total custom, high horsepower setup.

THIS JUST IN.....blown head gasket on the dyno tonight. I think UJ needs to put a grenade in this thing and run from it as fast as possible.

We did 1050 HP at 5900 RPM's with 7 lbs of boost. Cool part was that the torque was up at 1050 at about 4000 RPM's and hung up there at 1000 for a long time.
We then changed the boost up to 9 lbs. has to do some new mapping. Made another pull and blew a headgasket. we were at about 950hp at 5200 rpm's or so when it blew.
Should be back running again by the morning.
that should run pretty hard

Sounds like it will break 1200.
Make sure you map that badboy fat.

hey paint that shiat... If your builder is using "car-paint" the finish with those paints come out 100 times better than the other style of paint.
Also if it does leak its easier to clean with that paint. LOL ;)
I used to use car paint on all our motors, they look great and last a lot longer. Plus if done correctly they will survive the hot tank on the next rebuild. LOL ;)
looking good BTW!

Paint is on and Jory is re-assembling the new motor now. He's going to fix our wiring mess and make it look a little prettier.

I can't wait to see him attempt to answer this one...He didn't even know if the motor had carbs or fuel injection up until a month ago.
LMAO..that's phuck up. I leave my engine the color I get it in which is usually black (like my women and coffee). Seems like anytime I decide to make it pretty I have bad luck and the engine takes a sheit.

So is Ultra done with Derebery Motors??? Then my next question is.... What (if any) boat builder is using him??
By the way UltraJohn, congrats on the new motor...
