Do you have to pull the motor to change the gimble ring??? A shop told me that you either have to pull the motor or drill a hole???

Gimbal Ring, if we are on the same page here, the motor has to be pulled. Studs go clear through the transom. How did you mess that up???

Wait, the outside ring itself... they do make a drill kit, although we haven't done one like that...

To go along with the drill kit...I have heard it is a pain in the a$$.

Pull The Engine and it is still a pain in the ass. The Koon way is to drill 2 holes and you have to chisel the nut off and back on.Been there better to just pull it
You might as well pull the engine and grease everything while your in there!! I've never heard of drilling, but it sounds like a Mickey Mouse way to go about it.

Pull the engine and do it right. It will be easier in the long run. We usually pull the transom assembly and re-set it up on the bench.

I agree with pulling it... not really too big of a deal. Flat rate on that job isn't too bad...
