Saw this show coming on tv this sunday: "THS Investigates: The Curse of the Lottery", looks pretty interesting. i did a little google search and came up with this, Sad But True Lottery Stories (http://www.lottoreport.com/AOLSadbuttrue.htm). Guess most of these people figured the money would last forever.

There are two types of lottery winners . #1 ; One who waste it on toys , friends or gambling. # 2; One who becomes a recluse or become a cheap bastid and will die with the money left in the bank. I have two long time friends [ 30+yrs] who won the lotto and fits # 2 :rollside: . Never asked them for money , but as I'm concerned we're better of , if they stay away . Can't stand people complaining about how much things cost , when they just had a windfall  .

A buddy of mine hit quarter mania in Vegas for 1.7 million 7 or 8 years ago. He invested most of it and gets to retire at a young age if he wants to. His big purchase at the time was a vette, which he is still driving.

sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders and will probably have his money for a long time to come. Lucky Bastard! :rollside:

Inheirtance is also a curse. I'm putting all my money in a trust fund, and it is for family college education. If I don't buy a Hummer, then no one else is going to either. :)

many ppl have done studys on lotto winners. For the most part, the ppl that were unhappy b4 they had the money, they are unhappy with the money.
Most don't realize how much every thing they buy costs in up keep/ INS.

I remember a cocktail waitress in LV winning the megabucks for like $24 or $34 million (not sure but it was a lot). She was also very beautiful and in her late 20's, early 30's. Around 2000, 2001.
About 1 year later she was rear ended by a drunk while she was sitting at a stop light. Quadripalegic for life. The drunk had like 9 priors for DUI!
That whole story just sucked.

He thought about it but went with a new custom Fatboy instead. It's the one in the middle. Hard to see all the custom chrome but it is sweet.
