These ebayers are offering a 2005 MASTERCRAFT boat for $5900. The story
is that the boat was a gift from a father in law in the states and it costs too
much money to ship to the UK. They say that there is no market for these types
of boats in the UK, when pressed that their offer is too good to be true. They
are pushy in getting you to make the decision today. They do not want you to bid
and they do not want you to email them INSIDE of ebay. There is a buy it now
price on the ad, BUT no buy it now option through EBAY. You can only bid, and
when they do that, they cancel your bid and tell you to contact them directly.
ALL correspondence is OUTSIDE of ebay. They want you to wire them HALF of the
money in their name and supposedly on delivery of the boat, you wire the OTHER
HALF through WESTERN UNION. AT this time, you supposedly release the ENTIRE
funds to them and leave positive feedback. They ask that you not tell Western
Union this is ebay related, but a monetary gift for a friend.
It's a scam..... all ebayers have other items for sale, trailers, vans, farming
equipment, etc for $5900. I'd hate for someone to get scammed and give EBAY a
bad name. They tell you they are a member of EBAY SQUARE TRADE and that the
transaction is secure so that both buyer and seller are protected.... the whole
spiel makes sense and you are led to believe that you are in fact protected and
that they just need the money quick to dump the boat the father gave
them....please kick them off of ebay. Not everyone is smart enough to do the
research...... and realize that there is absolutely NO WAY you're going to buy a
boat that is worth $60000 for $5900. NO WAY.
