My humble opinion is that California offers amazing weather and an amazing economy. Ironically, it also dragged alot of beautiful people in the 50's and 60's to hollywood wanting to be stars> when 99.9% of thosepeople failed as actors they just had beautiful kids. Those beautiful kids grew up where there is sunshine 345 days out of the year and the ability to make a good living. Good looking people that have good jobs that live in nice weather tend to feel a bit more positive...hence a bit of arrogance
