I know quite a few guys here own rhino's and I am looking to pick one up. Stop by the Yamaha dealer in Montclair today and looked, but was wondering what some of you here have paid for yours. Any help would be greatly appreciated...I don't plan on financing it so maybe having cash in hand helps.

Cash in hand definately helps. We paid $11,000 otd for our 06 660 SE right before xmas last year. I think there are some better deals out there now. Check over on GlamisDunes.com forum. I think I saw somebody had a few in stock ready go. Also I'll PM you the number of the guy we got ours from in AZ. Picked in up in Havasu but it was worth it. I know a few others here bought from too.
Good luck,
Chris

I just bought one here in Vegas and paid $10,300 OTD including a digital dash.
I heard North Hollywood Honda will sell them for $10,300 OTD, no dash though.

The 10,500 price I quoted was the price paid for the brandie new rhino dropped off today. I dont know what the 700's will go for. I will ask.

My buddies at Corp Yamaha say as well as the Yamaha website and the magazines that have tested them that the 07's are still 660's with a carb, now the 08's that's a different story......maybe available late 2007. :crossx:

Not really, they do have some nice features like a gas guage in the dash, and a few new models with different colors and some cheesy piggyback shocks and a plastic roof. The link that TPC put up tells you all about them. 2007's are produced and on the road. I think if you can get a good deal on an 06, then save your money for a good set of shocks you'll be money ahead. 2008's may have the EFI 700 motor that the Grizzly and Raptor already have but I think they're still testing them and working the bugs out....but I think there's a pretty good chance they'll be 700's.

So another question is.. Wait for the 700 with EFI or buy a 660??

I wonder with the 700 being EFI are you going to be limited to what mods you can do? Is it worth it, I have no clue. I just bought an 06'.

I have a good friend that bought the first year 700 EFI Raptor and he went through a lot of headaches the first year trying to upgrade it.....but eventually the aftermarket guys figured it out. He did end up with a new CDI etc...with new air/fuel maps to account for the mods he made. I think the same will be true for the Rhino 700 but hopefully the learning curve will be shorter since the motors are similar to the Raptor and Grizzly....although as we found out with the Rhino 660...what works for the Raptors and Grizzly's doesn't always work on the heavier Rhino.
I think the 660 is a good bet, lots of parts already available to make more power. The clutch is still the tough nut to crack and it will be the same on the new 700 from what I understand. Anyway just me making wild guesses.

I have heard that Honda is coming out with something to compete with the Rhino. Anybody know how that might compare? Not trying to complicate things, just wondering.

Rumors......All rumors. The 2007's will have the 660 motor. As for the 2008's my sources have told me that there is no guarantee that the 700 efi motor will be in it. But they didn't say it wouldn't either. So thas up in the air. As for Honda creating some competetion, more sources have said they are doing a tap dance and don't have anything the moment. But I did hear they were possibly working on something similar to the old Pilots. :p :p

I got my 2006 Special Edition Yamaha Rhino over Labor Day weekend. Picked it up and Walt's Motorsports in Havasu. OTD for $9999.95 I also had the performance CDI installed which kicked up the price another $150.

Does anybody know if they will fit inside or a Weekend Warrior and clear the bunk without having to remove the roll bar??? They seem kind of tall.
