I know I'm technically a lurker but...I've been off the boards for a while because my Dad died last Wednesday. He & Mom started me off as a River Rat at Needles before I was 1. Today, my Grandma died (Dad's Mom). He wanted me to tell her personally so I did last Thursday. She was admitted to Eisenhower (Rancho Mirage, CA) the same day (last Thursday) and died today at 12:30. As if it weren't bad enough, Mom is under hospice care and has a 1-2 week prognosis. Long live MY DAD, Cap'n Ron!

He was 63 & never sick until diagnosed with gall bladder cancer. He lost 50lbs in 2 months then was gone.

You've got to be a strong person to handle all that in such a short period of time. :(
Condolences.

I'm sorry to hear this :)
Its my #1 fear. My mom is going through some stuff right now (mini stokes??) and I'm having a hell of a time getting my head straight..
She is only 52.
Your Dad looked like he lived a great life though. Some people never even get to experience the river.

My condolences...63 is way too young. Those are great pics of your dad. Looks like he really knew how to have a good time.
