We've had several U.S. customers complaining they're just getting stuff too quickly with UPS and aren't really ready for the parts yet. And the Postal Service, being a government entity, we're confident they won't let anything slip through the cracks. Yeah...it is funny that folks won't admit to the fact times have changed...there are those that will make it through these times and others won't....but it definitely a different market then two years ago....and if a real estate type company is not adjusting to the market they will fall victim as well.
Also, it is very tough to see folks lose their job or be without work or see income take a dip....I been through mergers, chapter 11's, layoffs and what not...and it is never a pleasant experience...

Anyone can easily point fingers and bad mouth a company or a person directly to make yourself look better but you have to draw the line somewhere. Keith Sayre @ Conquest Boats has a grudge for Magic Powerboats probably because he was fired from here a few years ago. He is the first to chime in with a rumor about our company or our boats but he won't tell you why he got fired or how Ron Moyes personally saved his life. For the record, Ron wrote a $5,000 check to Keith's drug dealer when the drug dealer showed up at Magic to take Keith "OUT". He won't tell you that though..... He lost his chance to work for the best boat company in town and now works for Conquest Boats. It makes me wonder what kind of company Conquest is if they have people like that work there??? He also won't tell you how awesome our 22,000 sq. foot Corona store is or how we are doing production out of here and our shop in Phoenix. It seems like he can't keep up with us here at Magic and maybe this is his last effort to reach out and try and sell a boat. In no way is Ron in trouble or is the company in trouble, we have actually increased production with our 2.99% financing. Where he got the number 50-70 employees were layed off, I have no idea, it wasn't even close to that. So, nice try again Keith at Conquest Boats of trying to shoot us down and not succeeding. He lost his chance to work for the best boat company in town and now works for Conquest Boats. It makes me wonder what kind of company Conquest is if they have people like that work there??? He also won't tell you how awesome our 22,000 sq. foot Corona store is or how we are doing production out of here and our shop in Phoenix. It seems like he can't keep up with us here at Magic and maybe this is his last effort to reach out and try and sell a boat. In no way is Ron in trouble or is the company in trouble, we have actually increased production with our 2.99% financing. Where he got the number 50-70 employees were layed off, I have no idea, it wasn't even close to that. So, nice try again Keith at Conquest Boats of trying to shoot us down and not succeeding. Also, off the record...lol, I called Keith on Saturday and told him I was a writer at the Today News Herald in Lake Havasu and wanted to do a story since he was on Hot Boat spreading the word. He didn't skip a beat to knock the company, it's employees and especially Ron himself and his family. WOW! I don't really know what to say to Sean's allegations, but any of my dealings with Keith have been friendly, informative, and pleasant. When I was looking for my last boat, I asked, and he gave me his opinions on a number of different boat companies, and didn't spend any time "bashing" any of them, and I was seriously looking at a Sleek 26 at that time. Seems to me Keith got wind of a rumor, did not mention any specific names, and was looking for someone to cooborate the story.
I do not have any knowledge of Keith and Magic's past, but I will tell you one thing, the company I work for would fire me immediately for a comment like Sean's. Good luck Sean, I imagine the fireworks go on from here.

I understand what your saying, but it seems that their is one person in most company's that speak before the think. And Sean is one of them. I will say this about my dealings with Power Marine. Clue, Julie and Ron Berger who are employeed by Power Marine and work in the service department, have been great to deal with. They have gone beyond the call of duty to take care of are issues.

I don't know if you remember me or not but at the time you were very imformative and said nothing derogetory about Magic (your competition). You knew I was also looking at them. You were very upfront and professional about the entire process. Now, that being said your boss (owner?) had one out on the lake with a larger engine in it and he would not let you use it for a test ride for me. Remember me now? I agree with voodooman. After reading this post I would probably not buy a boat from either company. If either company allows their employees to come on and slam each other then you know their product isnt good enough to sell itself without having to diss someone else. Almost bought a magic at the begining of the summer from Sean, but I am very glad I made the decision to go elsewhere.

Why are we flaming a guy for bringing our attention to a situation... Think about it what Keith did is responsible.... He didn't come on here stateing he knew for a fact and seems like others have supported his findings... I disagree with you completely. Keith heard a rumor, posted that he "heard a rumor" and IMHO was looking for some additional cooboration from someone else. He did not name or slam any boating company, but later mentioned that he had heard it a second time from someone he considered a credible source, but he still did not name any company.
Others came on and began throwing around names, and then the HB tribal drums began pounding! Sean was the one that came on here and dropped a tanker full of gas on a match! If he worked for my company he would be gone, period. That is not the way I would want one of my employee's responding to any kind issue.
I worked in the Shockwave booth for a couple of years when Keith was working the Conquest booth right next door, and he never once slammed any boating company while I talked with him....and that would be over three or four 12-14 hour days!
Every time I have ever asked or needed any kind of boating info Keith has chimmed in without any benefit or gain for himself. If I was looking for a deck boat, Conquest and Keith would be the first on my list!

I'd venture a guess that he's helped as many(or more) people on these boards as anyone....that includes a place to crash on a big weekend(no rooms),or boat storage in his yard when all of the places are full.

I was going to stay well clear of this thread just because I should for a million good reasons, but I felt the need to chime in....
Keith is the man. He is honest, straightforward and committed to our community. He has proven it again and again, and takes every single opportunity to help ANY boater. As a competing deckboat manufacturer, he still made arrangements to get me some help launching a boat my first time in Havasu without being asked to at all.
He is gracious with his home and his toys, always lends a helping hand and has never bagged on ANY manufacturer to me. I hold him in the highest esteem and regard.
Regardless of validity, Sean's allegations, insults and reaction are truly deplorable. They are non-professional to the extreme and serves not only the community but certainly his affiliation with Magic/Sleek poorly.
On one side of this equation is a truly stand-up guy who has brought nothing but credit to himself and our community. On the other side is a something decidedly different.
I have Keith's back, if no-one else did.

My .02 is Keith started a thread and stated it was a rumor up front, he didn't call anyone out. Maybe not the wisest decision but there was no personal attack that I can see there, much less threat of violence or bodily harm. Sean struck back airing some alleged dirty laundry, obviously feeling violated. Again probably not the wisest decision but THIS IS ***boat.... :rollside:

I was really trying to hold back when I first read this thread but oh well, here goes. Anyone can easily point fingers and bad mouth a company or a person directly to make yourself look better but you have to draw the line somewhere. Keith Sayre @ Conquest Boats has a grudge for Magic Powerboats probably because he was fired from here a few years ago. He is the first to chime in with a rumor about our company or our boats but he won't tell you why he got fired or how Ron Moyes personally saved his life. For the record, Ron wrote a $5,000 check to Keith's drug dealer when the drug dealer showed up at Magic to take Keith "OUT". He won't tell you that though..... He lost his chance to work for the best boat company in town and now works for Conquest Boats. It makes me wonder what kind of company Conquest is if they have people like that work there??? He also won't tell you how awesome our 22,000 sq. foot Corona store is or how we are doing production out of here and our shop in Phoenix. It seems like he can't keep up with us here at Magic and maybe this is his last effort to reach out and try and sell a boat. In no way is Ron in trouble or is the company in trouble, we have actually increased production with our 2.99% financing. Where he got the number 50-70 employees were layed off, I have no idea, it wasn't even close to that. So, nice try again Keith at Conquest Boats of trying to shoot us down and not succeeding. Also, off the record...lol, I called Keith on Saturday and told him I was a writer at the Today News Herald in Lake Havasu and wanted to do a story since he was on Hot Boat spreading the word. He didn't skip a beat to knock the company, it's employees and especially Ron himself and his family. In my opinion, I would have nothing but nice things to say about someone who totally saved my ass from a drug dealer who was ready to take me "OUT". Sorry to do this Keith but you brought it on yourself.

Well it's been said a 100 times already (I haven't been on here much or I would've said it 1st) I'd buy a boat off Keith tomorrow if I was in the market. He's arguably one of the nicest, and most stand up guys in the whole shitty industry. Now honestly I don't give a shit if he smokes crack on his personal time, I'd still rather deal with him then 95% of the other people in that industry.
He is a VALUABLE asset to the ***boat community (it's a shame he's been advised to "stay out of it." which I hope doesn't mean stop posting on ***boat) whom has gone out of his way, and well beyond the call of duty to help others on here so many times I couldn't count them all. He arguably does more for this community as a whole then any other one poster that I can think of.
I don't know Sean over @ Magic, and I'm not going to pretend to get so fired up that I think he should be fired or something. I think everyone makes mistakes and it's VERY EASY to get caught up on the online world and write shit that you normally wouldn't say etc. I write a post almost every day that never sees the light of day. I sit there with my finger on the trigger only to delete it before it ever gets posted becuase it's not worth it, and I've learned the hardway over the years that some of the things said on here can very easily get waaaayyyy ouuttaa hand.
That all being said, Sean I hope you know that I'm not for crucifying you for what you did. I do think though without a doubt you should apollogize for what writing what you wrote. On a side note to that, this is a community of boaters... Every community has rights, wrongs, and justice for those rights and wrongs. Alot of people (myself included) will probably be seeking that justice until that apollogy is publicly voiced on here in an attempt to make things right again.
