Thinking about a weekend trip to Owl campground (just north of Barstow) for a weekend ride through Fossil bed Canyon sometime in Nov. This is an awesome trail ride east toward Opal Mtn with many off-shoots (canyons) off of the main canyon. Would be an 1/2 day ride on sat with a nice campfire (Ho down) if she comes....lol Just thinking out loud to see if anyone would be interested in a relaxing ride and a BS story telling around the campfire with NO HBF drama...lol Any takers? it would be a nice shakedown run for the pre-season.

We are going to be headed up that direction same time frame with no agenda. I was thinking about hitting Death Valley, but don't know of anything down where you are talking about.

Wes,
Owl campground is semi primitive w/camp site, fire rings, toilets and potable pump water (well) approx 10 miles north of Barstow. Seldom used, mostly rockhhounds and staging area (motorcycles). We like it because it's close to home, quiet with great riding and hiking (Rainbow Basin) oportunaties. Death Valley is cool too but to many off-road restrictions. Definately Dumont Dunes for "T" Day, but was thinking one of the first few weekends in Nov to just get out and relax. Let me know.
