Overall SEMA was the same ol stuff in different colors but there was always some of the really wild stuff.
This was in the PPI booth. And yes the speakers not only spun but actually were producing some pretty good bass. This thing had about 15 Amps in it as well. Enjoy...:)

Dont worry, your not missing anything. Same ol crap. I honestly couldnt wait to get out of there. I Have been going for over 10 yrs. I started going in my early 20s and honestly the only difference I see is the wheels keep getting bigger...LOL
I go to see old friends. We see eachother once a yr, and that time is SEMA. :)

That's fantastic.
Does the rotation speed vary with engine RPM?

LOL, that would be funny. I could imagine those things flying out of the back of the camper shell on to the freeway at 75mph. :D

They've been spinning speakers for 50 years. Ever hear of a Leslie?
Agreed the leslie cabinet produces a very specific type of sound, not really desireable for audiophiles looking for accurate reproduction...what's the point of this design?

Not sure about that design since bass is nondirectional. maybe a bling thing.
I do remember the old mechanical rotory speakers that had the horn driven with a belt and a motor to produce the effect similar to the flange effect. I still use the rotory speaker effect on DSP occationaly with my PA system. though not as often as the flange effect. the rotory is more of a pulsing sweep on off ,on both sides. While the flanger is more of a sweep side to side.
anyhow .......

Wow, last year it was spinners for your wheels that you could program LED computer images and messages into. Where does it end??? :notam: :D
