Later I wanna do the axle conversion in the front and run 1 ton running gear underneith... but thats later....way later.. :rollside: :rollside:

Did this swap on my '90 Blazer, worked pretty sweet.
It took me a while to find mine as well, they're not as common as they should be, i.e., those 10 bolts are garbage and shouldn't exist. To be fair though, I imagine mine was a bit more common as I had to find a two wheel drive model(more narrow) and there's a lot of those light duty, 3/4 ton work trucks floating around, the 4X4 ones are probably a bit more difficult to find. When you do finally find one though, it's a straight bolt-in deal for you, I had to relocate the mounts for the Blazer. The other sweet thing is you can get an Eaton Posi for them and toss the Gov-Loc set-up, or just find a non posi and get the Eaton. Far superior set-up and still drivable.
I'm surprised the local truck salvage yard couldn't find you something on their locator.

I've always said if your gonna break somthing you had better break it GOOD! :crossx:

They came in a lot of light duty 3/4 ton applications. My friend's '95 3/4 ton 4X4 has one and I put one in a '90 Blazer that came from a 2 wheel drive pick-up. I agree though, they are tough to find, but not impossible. Back when I was looking, I found about six locally and held out for the cheapest one. Most were around $600-$800 drum to drum with posi which was a good price, but I needed a cheap one I could change the carrier in and convert to disc brakes. Finally found one in Riverside that was a peg leg and was missing the drums for $250 that had my name written all over it. Just gotta shop. :rollside:

I have never seen a 6 lug 14 bolt that was not converted, but thats not to say they are not out there.

Don't know how bad shipping would be, but here's one.
Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/14-Bolt-9-1-2-3-42-6-Lug-88-to-98-GMC-Chevy-Pick-up_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33731QQihZ020QQitemZ 300038257825QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V)
You'd have to change the gears though. :hammer2:

Let me know.

u may also want to consider just fixing the ten bolt. i have fixed a ton of them. if u have 35 inch tires i would get some 4.56 gears with a auburn limited slip locker. that is probley the cheapest and one of the best ways to fix the 10 bolt. let me know i can ship u all the parts. it will also help with our gas milage. and dont forget if it 4x4 the front has to be regeared also. if u put that rear end with the 3/4 ton floter its still putting stress on the transmission and that will probley go next.
