Walked out onto the deck this morning, and got a bit of a treat.
The big guy is, I believe, a 4 by 3. He is running with a forked horn and three does. He is clearly the "Man in Charge"
Some fresh straw around the pond has brought some quick new grass from the recent rains, and they are chowing it down..

BOOOO... no fair chuming them in like that... :D
Thank you for not saying the buck was a "7" point like all the city slickers around here would have...

For some reason the third pic won't come up, .
Hey Sleek, I don't chum them, they are really all over the place, I just like to shoot the pics when I can. The salt isn't even out right now, and this guy knows when season satarts. There ain't no sport in shhoting the ones in the front yard, ya know?
Now if you want to see chumming, you ought to see my 75 year old mom slicing apples and calling them in to her front yard like they were pets. 'Course, she would kill me if I went afdter one of these "kids" :D

I am guessing about a 26 inch spread.
Good mid-size buck. :)
Trojan dan, when they live in apple orchards and have pasture grass snacks they do pretty well. That, and all of the folks in this area are hunters who hunt in the high country, not the foothills. We pretty much know every car that belongs on the road, and those that don't, well, they don't hang around.

If I wasn't an idiot and not so "picture challenged" I would post what I see out side my window right now...the Matterhorn at Disneyland...
I like your view better. :crossx:
