...although we do get a couple of limos every year and take a bunch of people and their kids to see all the decorated homes and a large drive thru deal at Lake Belton that is pretty cool. :D

Not this year.
I usually have one of the premiere displays in Parker. Win "Most Christmassy" every year. I hate putting it up, but enjoy the results. http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/images/smilies/rudolf.gif
However, since we're going to Oregon for the Holidays, we're Scrooging it this year.

I like the houses that get all decked out. They're not very good pics but here's a friend's house of mine who go all out. Something like 15,000 lights and they add every year. :2purples:

Wellll I hope my hubby gets our lights out of the garage and "starts" putting them up this weekend. My family is coming into town December 1st and I would like our house to look nice for them. So I will keep my fingers crossed...

A Little too early for us. Sometime in early Dec. Besides its way too hot here today about 80 something out. Hard to get into Christmas when its so nice. Besides Jimmy Johnson is getting ready to win the Nextel Cup. (Fingers crossed)

I hear ya, it's about 85 here today  . I put on Christmas music while putting up the decorations, that seems to help.
Now I've got to stop avoiding putting up the lights. :220v: :p

I am going to try to weasel out of it completely this year.
We are suposed to be heading to SoCal for Christmas, so perhaps Cindy will let me slide.
Probably not. Cindy's Boss started on Halloween, the guy has about 2 acres he covers with decorations, he even bought an old boom truck to use just to get up into the big Cedars and Pines with the shiznit.
Three years ago he had a second 200 amp main service brought in with another meter, just for the Christmas decorations. He always winds up on the local light "tour", and has made the front page of the local rag a couple of times.
My father died on 12-19-83, and if it were not for the kids, well, lets just say that it is tough for me to get into the spirit.

Well we do not have any kids. This year we aren't going a Christmas tree. Last year our "fresh" tree died in about 1 week...
So I at least want Christmas lights outside. We even put lights up on our vacation house in Parker.
PS. oooh by the way. Hubby DID NOT put up any lights today. Took me shopping and out to dinner instead. So he got out of it...

Well at least you got in a little shopping and din instead of watching him couch surf the whole day. :crossx: :) I think my live tree lasted about 3 weeks or more. I was happy with it and will get another one this year. I've always had artificials before that.

Where did you get your "live tree" from? We ordered ours from a tree farm. It was pretty and all for about a week, then it was all dried out.

They cut them and sell them all around here. Lowe's and Home Depot sells them and then there's some other lots along the side of the road where they're selling them. I think this one was from Lowe's. Hmmm...can't remember for sure because I went to a few.

Yes, my husbands grandfather built the house out in parker 38+ years ago.
They lived in Orange County at the time and vacationed in Parker.
Now we moved from OC to Lake Havasu so we don't have to go very far for a quick vacation. Its nice its only about 35 minutes to the parker house and its right on the water.

Well thanks for the info. But I really think we will pass on the tree this year. We will be going back to California for the holidays anyways.....

We've had our Vacation House for 14 years in Havasu and this year looking to sell....busy with soccer, ballet, birthdays, etc...Bitter Sweet! We will miss the house but will keep the memories. Our 1st visit to Parker was last Summer...FUN! I'll keep you in mind for rentals next Summer. We'd like to make some Parker memories, too! :)

Where is your house in Havasu now? Are you on the north or south side?
We live on the South side by the Bashas. Sorry you have to sell it, well at least now you know of a place to rent for the summer months in Parker. Parker is fun, I think it alot different then Havasu (On the water).
